Syncing UI customization between two characters on the same server on the same system

The game is not really designed to consider convenience between alts. Instead, you're meant to do everything on a single character, including play all classes.

There is a way to do it, but it's more technical.

1. Close the game.
2. Go to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn and find FFXIV_CHR00.
3. One of these CHR folders is the folder for your main character. You're just going to have to figure out which based on the last modified date of the files in the log folder and other files, or the creation date of the folder.
4. Once you've found it, copy the files ADDON, COMMON, CONTROL0, CONTROL1, GREARSET, HOTBAR, KEYBIND, LOGFLTR, MACRO and paste them into the CHR folder of the new character.
5. That's it and you can boot the game up again.

"Date created" is usually the most useful piece of information for identifying characters but Explorer hides that column by default. In Details view, right click the header row and check "Date created" to add the column to your explorer view.


It's also a good idea to create shortcuts with human readable character names once you know which folder is which so you don't need to remember their character IDs. i.e., "Character Config - Januaria Athena Excalibur"

I've gotten to lvl 34 but am stuck on a lvl 20 "Purple +" quest: My Little Chocobo (Twin Adder). Seems I need Serpent Chocobo Issuance by exchanging company seals with the Serpent Quarter Master. Now I have 2,157/10,000 of company seals, but the quest is still showing as red for me. Can you advise plse?

You should start a new topic whenever you have a new problem so we know what to expect from the thread title. It also keeps things tidier when someone has one of the same problems as you and finds one of your threads in a google search so that the thread is just about one problem and how to fix it, instead of a lot of information on problems other than what the person is trying to figure out being mixed up in one thread.
