The pvp rewards shouldn't be exclusive to a season. They should just be adding rewards to the system and letting people buy them at any point, including the rare coffer armor or what not after it rotates. No one is going to have the energy to go to rank 25 every single season and most vets of the first two seasons probably don't want to go to rank 25 again.

i barely pvp and still managed to get to rank 30 every series. it's not that hard, unless you are only playing like once a week.

I got rank 25 twice. They have competing super sinks with EX mount farming, Savage raiding and relic grinding. That is assuming someone isn't trying to do crafting as well on top of it like pentamelding craft gear and doing nodes. The game also gives benefits that save on costs for doing crafting jobs and gathering jobs that are simply passive, like being able to meld your own gear, which ultimately becomes important for people with limited time in the game.

The other problem is that some roles in pvp are... just plain bad in unorganized play. If I'm leveling dancer or reaper, do I want to subject myself to casual pvp matches where your main function requires coordination with the team to work? Dancer is great support but their LB takes too long to activate and all their abilities are meant to buff a teammate who has no idea what he is doing.

And the above is just an example with dancer. With frontline now giving series EXP it helps a bit assuming someone can manage to not lose their mind from doing daily frontlines. I don't think I've won a single frontlines I'm in since the changes to PvP in endwalker since the PvP changes are for CC, not for Frontlines. Frontlines just turns into who can fish a player from a school and tanking LB spam from dragoons. Since the population of players is so large compared to JP, there isn't an organized community doing the PvP. For better or worse the bigger the player population, the more emotionally driven vs intellectually driven the herd becomes.

If you applied the same logic to any other roulette in the game, you'd be kicked out of the party, or you'd make it take twice as long because of your lack of interest in participating. People shouldn't queue if they're not prepared to perform at their best, and would rather leech off the work of others.

that doesn't work because all the other roulettes are PVE. Frontlines is very much dependant on how much the other teams may or may not be stomping all over you.

I don't want to put effort into my dungeon roulette as a healer, so I don't do dps and I just spam one or two healing spells.
I don't want to put effort into alliance roulette so I mash buttons while watching my second monitor.
I don't want to put effort into my duties as a tank, so I pull one pack at a time spamming 2 aoe buttons.

This is all disruptive behaviour. It makes content take twice as long. It's just as disruptive in frontlines, even more so because you yourself say

They wouldn't be stomping all over you if the players on your team were putting in effort and playing to win, not to collect a participation trophy at the end. The more effort your team puts in, the more stomping your team gets to do. In every other form of content poor gameplay and lack of effort is rewarded with removal from the party, exceptionally longer times to clear content, or just outright failing to clear alltogether. In front lines, deliberate lack of effort sabotages 23 other people who may be farming out achievements for wins, or who just want to have fun.

It's hard to even tell what is going on in frontlines because of the weird way that one works. I've seen mass battles work but usually it is a lot more guided where both sides are pushing against one another on a front. With three sides it's just a chaotic mess. Especially with how these matches are about taking random objectives across a map. CC I can sort of get behind, even if it does get repetitive.

frontlines is too chaotic with 3 teams going at it. most of the time when someone tries to "lead" most people tell them to shut the hell up. how are you supposed to deal with that then?

Good god man you've been playing this game for over 10 years and you need advice with dealing with toxic players? This has gotten very off topic, but regardless when PvP overflows into Alliance chat its literally either because the person making call outs is being toxic, or someone with a defeatist attitude is salty. In either case, just vote kick the clowns out and focus on winning.

Personally I primarily play on Primal, and I don't see this kind of thing happen very often. Most of the time its someone whining about supposed "cheating" in every other match.
