The last Castlevania game I played was Lament of Innocence, which takes the series to its roots. It's an absolutely fantastic game. When I was hoping for a whip user in 7.0, my thoughts were entirely fixated on Leon Belmont, his fighting style, combos, and the use of elementally charged whips. Everything from the aesthetic of his look all the way down to the gameplay itself fits so perfectly into this game. There is also Quistes Trepe from VIII that had me hoping.
