Data Center Travel is ruining server Party Finder

For me its not really the lack of Raids as much as the lack of ANYTHING BUT "clubbing" in the Party Finder on Crystal.

There's no Map parties, no dungeon parties, no VC Dungeon, no Raids, No Hunt parties, no Trails, no nothing... except those.

Which is beyond me, because first of all it doesn't really fit the fantasy vibe of Final Fantasy... and second of all if you really wanted to go clubbing you can do that in the real world and it's a hell of a lot more fun and you can get laid for real, not virtually. There's a ton of things to do in the game that you can't do in reality... yet there's this ton of entries for all the things you can for real. I just sit there and shake my head going... wtf dude... really?

I was on Aether again on Gilgamesh on an Alt character and I actually saw a Coils of Bahamut T5 announcement in Limsa... but the only thing i see in Crystal is pointless irrelevent things when there's a ton of other stuff to do in the actual game.

1. Crystal is known as the default roleplay DC, you won't find much raiding there in general (but to be fair, it's even less now because of the content drought and being super late into the raid tier). The RP scene also usually tends to carry the game during the dead periods.
2. Covid exploded the nightclub scene, it wasn't always a forefront as it appears now. You used to be able to find a wide variety of RP. It didn't really fade out afterwards because people realized they could monetize it and turn it into a career (i.e. DJs getting RL money through Twitch, brothel workers getting RL money through Discord, etc.). So now it's a permanent fixture and I wouldn't expect it to go anywhere.
3. ERP is a thing and extremely popular. Go to the Quicksand in Balmung some time, everyone there is looking to get laid. You might not understand the appeal but the sex scene in this game is insanely big.

My advice: Transfer out of Crystal if any of that bugs you, it's not going to change and hasn't in years (even pre-covid because it's always been known as the RP DC). You'd probably be happier on Aether if you want a consistent raid scene.

Didn't YoshiP say in an interview or live letter (or maybe one of the other devs) that they had the capacity to implement cross-DC partyfinders? Seem to remember something like that.

Regardless of the technical difficulty of the endeavour, it would be wise for the developers to figure out some form of cross-DC queuing. My character is on Marilith but I spend 99.9% of my time on Aether because of the queues.

They have created a sweeping issue that effects everyone from their own home DC's population and down even to their chosen Free Company and their friends list. Yeah, but you can still put that back on the person that ok'd it. Someone took that feedback and didn't think about the consequences of it. And now they have to fix it because it was a bad idea in the long run.

That's the point, though. These are socially incompetent basement dwellers. They could never bring themselves to visit an actual club and even if they did their chances of success are pretty much zero. So instead they play pretend in these little make believe clubs and beat off to catgirls.
