This would be genuinely super interesting and fun, and honestly, shouldn't be too hard to implement, right?
I mean, Mahjong sounds like it has more variants than Chess anyway.
I really doubt this will be implemented or even acknowledged by the devs, but it'd be great if it happened (it won't)!

I would love to see a chess minigame held at the Gold Saucer to serve as an alternative to Doman Mahjong with its own unique achievements. Like Mahjong, players would have an opportunity to play against other players or against ai controlled bots.

Yes please. even if I'm not that good at it, i do enjoy chess a lot and would love to see a ff twist to chess pieces.

Even though I love this idea, Chess engines just make it unworkable.
