Betters way would has been to makes each ward consist of properties all same size so thats buyers has ability to upsgrade house overs time from small to large. that would be so fun, but I wonder if current large home owners would be angry because they feel like they're "losing" a prestige item. I agree though, the entire idea of small/medium/large promotes competition and frustration between players.

As was said at the start of Endwalker, the ward system necessitates constant new wards every 6 months or so, because SE refuses to deal with multiple owners and people hoarding houses, and refuses to drop the ward system.

It's just how it is. Any extra housing gets sucked up by people using it for private FCs and gil farming on subs, or to try to own as much as possible.

Larges aren't really prestige tbh, none of this is, at least when the system is working as intended.

Problem is most people are pursuing their dreamplot instead of any size or whats available.
