Replying with a smug image going "Nobody cares what you think" when you criticize something IS a pretty directed attack.Hmmm, not really. This is more directed at your general negativity here and elsewhere. How it seems to be targeting the posters themselves, rather than just the VA (which is fine if you do not think their voice work was good/fantastic).
Like someone could say one thing defending the VA, not quoting you at all or even talking about you (they could be talking about the tags in their thread) and then you'd swoop in and post something looking like you were personally attacked.
I saw a video with the english voice acting and i find it good. It do not know what is wrong. The voice actor speaks very clear and understandble.
Cheers
Don't mind them, they live here.Hmmm, not really. This is more directed at your general negativity here and elsewhere. How it seems to be targeting the posters themselves, rather than just the VA (which is fine if you do not think their voice work was good/fantastic).

No duh? I even said as much.
"This is more directed at your general negativity here and elsewhere."
I even said it's fine if they dislike the voice. It's also fine to disagree with others who do like the voice. That's not what Stormpeaks does, though.

I am honestly going to blame it on whoever the VA director for her is. I went ahead and listened to a couple of the VA's other roles and she sounds like a solid VA. She's had another Hispanic-sounding role before and sounded just fine to me. It sounded more like a pacing issue to me in some of her lines as Wuk Lamat. That being said, I do agree that if they want a character to have a specific accent, it's usually better to have someone who has plenty of experience with it (or just naturally has it) as it can be a challenge enunciating certain words in a way you're not used to. I like her so far but do think some lines should be re-recorded. I want to hear more before making a final opinion on her voice acting in this particular role.

After finishing the MSQ her VA grew on me. I think as she gets more fleshed out in DT and more voice lines it will only get even better.
I too found the voice to a bit grating and unfitting as I was expecting a more authentic "Carribbean" accent. I was hoping for a more Jamaican type voice myself and one VA I think would do a good job at that, is Hillary Hawkins.
But I have played XIV since 1.0 and the voice acting back then was not as good as today. Lyna, Emet, Ardbert i think are my absolute favs.
I do not mean to sound disrespectful of the current voice actress, just I felt the voice didnt fit the character unlike how I found Lyna's Icelandic accent perfect![]()
The voice is still terrible, and I don't appreciate people who leave transphobic tags on my topic. I also don't appreciate folks going out of their way to dismiss every criticism as being irrelevant. If a customer is unhappy, they have a right to voice their complaints.
Also I wish the forum wouldn't restrict how many times I can post a day, that'd be great.
You could always swap to the JP voice option if it's that big an issue. It's bad. I feel like the character was miscast. Why did an American get hired for the role when the hiring studio is based out of London and everyone we've gotten has been from the UK so far?
The accent and pronunciation varies wildly and it shows how amateurish she is in comparison to the rest of the cast. I don't want to have to listen to a mid delivery from a character we're going to be stuck with for the entire expansion.
Give us the ability to swap language for specific characters so I can listen to the superior Japanese Tomboy Wuk.
TRANSPHOBES NOT WELCOME. THIS IS A TOPIC ABOUT BAD VOICE ACTING.
