I don't see a problem with the voice. It fits perfectly and I like it.

The people saying "poor voice acting" have probably not heard poor voice acting before like I have. I watched some Star Trek fan films once and they were just emotionless, reading slowly from a script and it was hard to watch. That was when I realized all the actors I see professionally hired on TV are actually very good. It's no different here. The actors SE hires are very good at what they do.

Even so, the existence of 1/10 VAs does not make a 4/10 VA "very good".

Agreed. It's time for Square Enix to lay off their Broadway/West End voice actors for cheaper talent from Twitter since it's just as good. The company can use the savings to lower our sub fee or make more content. How does that sound?

And not give the devs a well needed pay increase? Listen you know as well as I do the devs of the game have to have a one month break every patch cycle and that cant pay for itself. Not to mention the increasing costs of everything else. Especially the devs who work the cash shop and produce quality products every month. Do you know how much those devs in particular need a raise. The players should be greatful, not more demanding of the devs

Can you cite where the devs are not paid enough? or are being over worked? glassdoor reviews/stats?

What makes you think that? There's been a number of games where the voice acting has been of dubious quality and ridiculed and/or deemed immersion breaking.

The early Resident Evil games were notorious for that and many people posting here regularly play other games. Though you can look at many modern games and see that if a particular bit of voice acting isn't the best and has strange delivery then it stands a good chance of being discussed as an issue.

The thread is twenty two pages long because the forum is being used for its intended purpose - discussion and feedback. What is a non-issue to a particular player or group of players is not necessarily a non-issue for others.

I do not raid these days so I do not care much for raiding, though I do care about immersion and consistency when it comes to storytelling and characters - which is just as much about the audio cues as much as the text itself. You're not obligated to consider such things to be a priority but there's enough people saying otherwise to make it clear that it's a credible concern for those who do.

Trying to minimize my opinion because he doesn't think I don't know a bad voice performance when I hear one. Smh...
