Is there really any controversy in firing a bad voice actor? It should not matter if they are transgender or not, American or not (Puerto Rican technically is). I'm happy when the voice matches what I see on a screen. It doesn't matter what nationality or gender or whatever they are. It just needs to work.

I switched languages for this patch, after trying a cutscene in English. The ARR voice actors sounded better.

The voice actor announced the role, prior to the patch. I'm not sure if it is actually a rule of SE, but some have indicated that it is.

Thing is, its rather subjective if she is or is not a bad actress. As you can see there are people who do like her voice within the negativity. If SE had to fire everyone this forum labeled as a bad actor, writer, game designer etc, then there would be very few people left working on the game! Plus, I would assume she has likely already done the bulk of voice acting for DT, and perhaps some of the patch content? (I am unsure how far in advance such recording happening, does anyone know?) and there is no way penny-pinching SE is gonna re-hire someone now.

Sure, if DT comes out and the majority of the community OUTSIDE just this little spec of players dislikes her, then perhaps they will replace her depending on how big a role she has in the future. I think that would be a shame though, as like I said before, I like her so far.

Honestly I just hate the voice because it's actually physically painful for me to listen to, like something is scratching at the back of my neck. It's honestly pretty rare for voices to do that to me since usually it's wet sounds or crunching sounds causing discomfort, which produce a crawling or stabbing sensation in my neck. I reflexively mute the game any time I see food come up in the game for the same reason, the wet chewing and chomping just agitates me too much.

Ariel didn't have a distinct nationality, culture, or culture group, like say Belle or Mulan, so the Little Mermaid did not really suffer from a 'diversity casting' so much. Still that film wasn't very profitable but mostly because it was poorly made.

em? have u read the original? she was from denmark, was white and had blonde hair. she 100% suffered from her horrible casting choices

cause the discussion is about ethnicity. not her talent or acting. and thats why it dont belong here
