I don't really understand this stance.

Doing the same daily roulettes day in and day out, running the same exact cookie-cutter content you have run for the past 2-10 years, is the definition of a mindless grind. Hunt trains are even worse, you fight 12+ mobs in a row that can't even get a single mechanic off, ad nauseum for hours. They've turned getting relics into the gameplay equivalent of sitting in traffic every morning on your way to work.

I get the feeling that the people who like this relic format are the compulsive rouletters who get home from work, feel an unhealthy compulsion to go down the list and complete every single roulette, and then are left without much time left to do anything else.

I mean it's also you can effectively get the amount of tomestones needed in less then five hours as opposed to before where it was a grindfest. For instance I just did the second step of RPR's relic quest on saturday, only 200 short from finishing it now. It's really not that big of a deal. Add in instead of doing something like bozja or eureka this post-expansion they did Island Sanctuary and the various variant dungeon, would you prefer relics tied to those? Would you prefer the entire system be attached to Island Sanctuary?

I don't see the big problem with tying it to doing roulettes. It's honestly the biggest not-problem people decided to make it. Especially if the biggest complaint is just "they're tied to roulettes!!!! this is bad because people have to do content enjoyed by more people!!"
