NA Fanfest was a bit sad compared to EU and JP Fanfests

Doesnt really matter to me honestly. As someone who's also Japanese American, we already know how incredibly xenophobic their people can be. No point in sugar coating it. Im not into woke hobgoblin nonsense and soft culture coddling.

Weird cuz most the time I hear about how Japanese people love North Americans.
What kind of evidence do you have to back up your claim? Or are you just basing it on the country's rules on immigration?

On topic for the post though. SE really needs to do more research on the venues/organisers for the next ones. You can blame the organisers all you want but SE are the ones who picked them.

Interesting that is the exact opposite of how squeenix handles the NA stuff every fanfest and nothing changes. Or how about their company? The jp forums? There's a lot to base it off of. Sadly most of you can't read a lick of Japanese or played on JP servers. But i expected that of you or a lot of others. History of ff mmorpgs also goes back to ffxi (that's still around today btw).

Ffxiv fanfest has always had the ish end of the stick with treatment since the first fanfest for xiv. Xi's fanfests were never this bad or unorganized. They blame it on the contractors as if they didn't have a say on it being in California SD (which it was suppose to be originally). Bigger venue and ability to work on. The jp fanfest was a huge success. But na or eu? An after thought. What do they say about insanity again? Doing the same thing over and over but never changing?

During the time of NA fanfest and a little after it people did come out with experiences that the venue has been shit before the fanfest as well, so the blame is on both of them.

An occurence that happens so much that it's hard not to complain about our fanfests state side or eu. With hours many fanfests we've had since our first one, you'd THINK they'd learn by now. But it's a lot more apparent every fanfest

Also does anyone remember how everyone in the English forums complained about the current tier raid being incredibly difficult (even with available bis going into those fights) and their reaction was "lol our team cleared it without issues. We didn't think yall could be this bad" (even though countless raid groups who were able to best those fights within 24 hours or the week, and even they thought it was too much)? We still don't even know what kind of gear the devs were using. For all we know- they were in current bis and giving English players so much ish for it when neither of the teams were fully bis ready till after the final tier was cleared.

Does no one think the ffxiv team and management have always been suspicious?? Like?? The marketing team and the management that takes care of our events have always been questionable. I get that even the video game conventions get shirts that we should at least be getting at fanfest. But a lot off actions have always been more questionable than reasonable in ffxivs history. And I've been playing since 1.0 >_>

Historically you would be correct. But modern day, I've been seeing otherwise.
I've been learning the language for sometime now and have also looked up a decent amount on the culture.

Any road- that aside--I will say this. I still Love Japan and its culture. I love Japanese people, and its history (given the sad outcomes of some of it). I love this company (even though nfts and ai will be the downfall of it eventually, or they terminate the ceo in the next 5 years).

Iwill not give up on ffxiv and what I love and enjoy about this mmo (and xi since the cap was 50 from JP to NA). But there are some really bad mistakes that I cannot gloss over what theyve done to english players over many years of playing. And i feel like that hurts the most. We all love this game. But the poor treatment year after year is disheartening.
