Yoshida-san mentioned Midgar being on a Shard a good while ago in an interview. It was even talked about on the forums, too.Which SE debunked long ago that none of the Shards are other literal FF worlds, but merely reflections of the Source with just places that reference other FF game places but again are not those literal locations.
Midgar existing in a Shard though is a new one - I've never heard anything mentioned about that whatsoever - seems more like someone took Emet's comment about the other Shards' civilizations "surprising you" in EW literally to mean 'Midgar is on a Shard' (personally I think we already got our Midgar equivelant in the form of Garlemald really - I mean, the Sector 6 playground/park is in there for thing), so... citation needed?
By a good while ago you mean 4 years?
I can't find any actual transcriptions of the interview, just of a couple of articles saying that Yoshi P told the website in a private interview that information. Between that, and the possibility of a mistranslation, it's hard to tell if it's genuine.
Was also something he supposedly stated in regards to it.“It’s not just limited to different shards, but the place all of it came from was outside space, so it will be also very interesting to explore that area, not just the different shards.”

Yep, Nutkin been Thancred side companion that often appears in a "Where's Waldo" situation which has prompt certain players to keep a eye out for Nutkin whenever Thancred is appearing.
Honestly, if Nutkin does end up being a actual person transformed as a Nutkin I will probably have to pause the game and laugh at the situation since Thancred most likely never realized Nutkin is maybe a person in disguise.
Would be more funny if Nutkin turns out to be this new girl on the top for the Dawntrail poster....
Okay, everyone else go home, OP just had the funniest galaxy-brain take; I sit in awe and enlightenment.

So, unfounded speculation time:
The Arcadion will be simulated (VR? Dimensional pockets?) battles ran through that giant GPU-looking tower. I say this for no reason other than it looks like a computer part.

I agree. I have a feeling it's gonna be similar to the Omega raids. Maybe virtual battle is something they do for fun.

That sounds awesome but what would the stakes be? Are we just battling to try to get a reward or something? I feel like every raid has some pretty high stakes, so there'd have to be a twist to that. What could it be...

If we win, we get to be their ruler and direct them to fight a war for us...oh wait, did that one already.
It will be a bit interesting if this raid is just a Tournament they are holding between their civilizations best fighters in a virtual arena.
We always have Raids about preventing a side world ending threat but with the theme more now about the WoL going back to his/her roots as a Adventurer, a Tournament Arc theme raid without the threat of the world ending if WoL does not get involved will probably be a nice little relaxing experience for WoL.
Curious about these fellas and the images that kind of look like screenshots under them. The small images don't have a clear unified aesthetic to just be random irrelevant pictures.
