I guess he couldn't cut it as a Monster Hunter since he was apparently trying MH World for the first time after Capcom started promoting the return to world movement that started after Wilds was announced at the game awards. :P

Asmongold played FFXIV because it was trending. His chat had suggested he check it out before that, but he wasn't interested. Not until the YT algorithm said he should be.
As soon as XIV stopped trending, suddenly other games - all of which just happened to be trending at the time - became his priority.
All the while, he was saying he'd go back to FFXIV... just to keep those fans waiting for him to on the line.
Now that he no longer has to pretend to like FFXIV, he's back to bashing its graphics, combat, etc.
And it wasn't only Asmon. It was rather eye-opening to me to see how many larger creators are just as much slaves to the algorithm. Any time a new release comes out, I see the same big names streaming them, pretending to enjoy them... until the algorithm says it's time to move on... then they're pretending to enjoy the next big thing.
It's pretty gross.
My response to this news is the same as his response to the charity allegations.
He thought the game was okay but he did have a fair few issues with the game. I can only imagine the disappointment when he reaches endgame.Trying to ruin the game for him again?
Can you not leave it alone and let him enjoy the game?
He was fine with the game. He liked it more than he expected.
It was the stream-sniping and similar shenanigans. His character was known well enough he couldn't even play off-stream without people bugging him.
I'll say the same thing I said last time. He's not the problem. Some of his viewers are. Hopefully they let him enjoy the game in some semblance of peace this time.
Could it maybe be that people's first impressions were good but cracks started to show as they continued playing? Idk..@twocatsyelling723

I thought the game was perfect when i went through the story but then as i was about to dip into endgame i realised how shallow the gameplay loop really is. A crippling lack of a decent reward structure, a general lack of things to do and a homogenised roster of jobs that all must be designed around the 2 minute window.
Part of it I suppose boils down to how a game's community handles his comments and behavior.
In the case of Monster Hunter. From what I've heard ppl acknowledged him playing it gave it a little more visibility to people that had never played the games before. However they apparently didn't hold back on roasting him over things he said during his streams about the game to the point at times where they supposedly flooded his chat with comments calling him an idiot lol.
Internet neckbeard doing thing oh boy what news.
Last I remember he got up to Susano'o in the MSQ, so it'll be left to be seen how far he gets into the game before he quits again...
Greatest ever streamer of FFXIV? You must be kidding.
