Your examples are things that are only temporarily interacted with. What we are talking about is the new casting job that your PC (the constant part of your play experience) will be using.

It's been 7 years since the latest Magical DPS, people are going to look at Pictomancer through a critical lens. The job aesthetics are very divisive for a job that's been anticipated for so long, and we may not see another caster for years, if at all.

I think he means because everyone else's effects are translucent lights and pictomancer effects are solid. It does look different from other attacks, but we're attacking with paint if they made it look exactly like other attacks, then what's the difference? If you bring it in line with the rest then what's the difference between a BM's freeze attack and a Picto's freeze attack?

While I agree their attacks look different. I also think that's what beating someone to death with paint would look like. It looks goofy because it is goofy.
