Is Solution Nine located on Etheirys? They jumped the shark. No way that had been sitting on Etheirys without word spreading.

Is it located on one of the Reflections? Then no.

Emet did tell us that some of the civilizations on the remaining shards might surprise us. We've been to the First and the Thirteenth. We have yet to see the Fourth, Eighth, Ninth and Eleventh.

Considering the architecture is reminiscent of Allagan and Garlemald, it seems likely that it would be another civilization Emet had his fingers in.

Looks like the citizen section of advanced civilizations we have already seen, imo. For example I imagined a metropolis for /citizen/ area of Garlean could be dang near Zanarkand from FFX.

That said my first thought for this area was it was inside a program lol.

I think they had to introduce a mystery element because the premise of 7.0 alone is quite meh.

The idea of a tournament and scion's fighting is cool and all but that's not really enough to sell an expansion to a wide array of people imo.

I noticed its architecture is very similar to Amaurot, so it's most likely Emet-Selch's doing. Building empires used to be his job after all.

Yeah, to me it's an amalgam of Academia from FFXIII-2, Esthar from FFVIII and Zanarkand...

The 'inside a computer' vibe isn't helped by that GPU looking dungeon though.

Haha, definitely! The GPU further adds to that, and I think would help people having issues with it be able to accept it's very advanced imagery if it was that. Naturally they couldn't tell us now without lore implications.

In Encyclopedia Eorzea Volume 1, on Page 92, there's a section about the tribes of Aura Xaela that mentions the Haragin tribe.

To quote:

The legends of this coastral tribe tell of a group of their ancestors who crafted a giant ship and sailed out across the endless eastern ocean. The explorers are said to have returned with tales of a terrible island covered in massive grey monoliths and inhabited by fire-breathing steel demons.

As the Xaela tribes hail from the Othardian Steppes, what an "eastern sea" means to Othard loops back around the planet to the New World, if we take a look at our own world. Based on the footage and artwork we've seen so far, grey monoliths checks out. So not only is this a real thing on Etheirys, it must have been here for long enough for legends to be made and passed down about it from an entirely separate civilization. Conjecture until proven otherwise, but it's compelling, I'd like to think.

Solution Nine is on Etheirys. It's also on the opposite side of the entire world, which had been completely uncontacted until Merlwyb knocked on their door 20 years ago. The Allagans didn't even go to the Western Continent based on what we know. Not only is it in a place unexplored by Eorzeans, it's in the middle of the desert there and we don't know how much people in Tural are aware of it. It could be a whole Wakanda situation for all we know.
