But for some reason my brain gets confused and the circles seem to spawn randomly and quickly. Even then the mechanic is still the same - simply move into the first area after it explodes - but I lose track and die. It's the only mechanic in the whole dungeon that consistently gets me and I don't have a clue why.

Super frustrated and embarrassed and it makes me only want to do the dungeon with trusts.
If it makes you feel better one of my fc mates would die on the second boss of Pagglethong due to the missiles messing with his head and he will just walk into them. We have to basically tell him to wait until there's a safe spot for him to move, then we tell him to move.

76 runs later, he finally got it.

As for your brain thinking you should move, always remember it spirals outward from the center of the boss' arena. Being close to the boss might help you position better, or at least see where you need to be first.

This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.

Yes! I ran it last night and had no problems, finally. The issue was my brain kept telling me to immediately move into the first area after the circles disappeared instead of waiting for the explosion first, THEN move in.

Again, I know this is very simple stuff that has been in the game forever, and I don't know what it was that made this one so tough for me. But it's not a problem now. If there's such a thing as brainlock where after doing the same activity repeatedly over the years, your brain can suddenly lock up when doing that same thing again, I am a prime candidate for a case study.

I can't be the only one that despises pvp shot callers/well known personalities.

Had 3 of them on my team in FL earlier. Both other teams targeted us the entire game for it to the point where we only really got to spend a third of the game out of base.

Oh, you're wondering how they knew from the start? Because people couldn't keep their mouths shut in one of the main pvp discords of course. Both teams literally knew before the match started. This wasn't for the purpose of winning, it was for the purpose of banter with people running their mouths in discord way too much.

To add to it all, one shotcaller got angry telling people to stop dying. I mean sure under normal circumstances, sure, but when you're backed into your base by both other teams?

This is part of what makes FL unenjoyable. You're already 1/24 and your personal impact is low outside of shotcalling and conducting. Then to have all of this weird drama/banter take hold and shape your game when you just want to play is insane.

Was it PVPRevival? I browsed it back during the moogle event to see where RW was being played but aside from that it's worthless for winning FL games. People would rather post animal gifs than set up groups/queue syncs.

So, last night was one of the most bizarre times I've ever had in this game doing roulettes and dungeons.

The first run I had was Expert roulette and I went in as SMN. Not really any problems. Things went pretty smooth. But everything after that was just...off. First of all, I was farming tomestones because I needed that last chunk of whatever-it-was to get the final relic weapon upgrade for SMN. So, I was only queueing for Aetherfont and The Lunar Subterrane.

Normally, this isn't a problem, even when I queue as DPS. The wait is usually around five minutes or so. Lots of people still farm those dungeons for alt jobs, etc. But last night the wait times on Primal were upwards of about 15-20 minutes. No healers and tanks were running these dungeons last night on my DC. So I switched to AST and of course I got an insta-queue.

Then I found out why no healers were running this. I guess it was a night of first timers and healers had decided to nope out of queueing for pug groups. The two dungeon runs I had as AST were straight up painful. In both runs, the two DPS were doing no mechanics on any of the boss fights. I spent the entire time running around rezzing, cleansing and healing the DPS. The tank in my first run wasn't even using mitigation on large wall to wall pulls. So that meant I had to babysit them. Couldn't do any DPS because the moment I did, their HP would plummet precipitously.

But the second dungeon run took the cake. It was Lunar Subterrane. Once again, the two DPS, an RDM and a RPR, were doing no mechanics but it was their first time. (At least that's what the pop up said, and they were watching cutscenes.) So a few deaths were to be expected. But it didn't look like they were even trying to do any mechanics. They weren't even moving out of AoEs. They would just stand there, take the vuln stack, and then promptly die to the next mechanic.

Then they all started talking about what kind of blood they liked in real life. The tank was part of the discussion. Stuff about O Positive blood is the best, this other type of blood can be good, and then other stuff about blood I can't remember. I thought maybe they were all health care professionals but it legit sounded like they were drinking it or something.

So, I thought I must have gotten into an FC group. Which would explain everything. But I checked and none of them were in the same FC. The tank wasn't even in an FC. Then when the dungeon was mercifully over, the tank told the DPS that he hoped they found the blood they were looking for, and left. I bailed immediately after that as well. Seriously, WTF was going on last night?

    The whole thing was just...bizarre.

I'm starting to think leveling dps on alts via roulettes was a bad idea.

Queued up on an alt mch, get Darkhold 5 min in progress. There's another mch and a sge further in, tank has somehow left the dungeon before I came in, and I'm not sure what happened prior. The sage had not bothered to Kardia themselves and they were fighting two mobs. Somehow they die in one of the side rooms trying to get the chest. Eventually a GNB tank fills in and we're able to get to the first boss, however...

The GNB seems to be very allergic to standing in the blue light, and they very nearly die to the last bit of trash that was cleared prior to my entry plus the Eye wandering about. We finish up the trash and go into the boss room. Thankfully our dps was enough to down him before the first crystal faded and we move onto the next hallway.

This is where things get hectic.

GNB decides that mits are for wussies until the last second and floors it once to gather up the first set, nearly dies, floors it again after we cleared half the trash, rounds the corner and since line of sight is still a thing in this game, she dies. Guess who was next in line to get pummeled? If you guessed me, you're right! Naturally as a mch my only mitigation at this level was Arm's Length and Second Wind, and since there were about 7 mobs still alive I go down fast.

SGE is panic healing, raises the tank, and leaves me on the floor. I decide 'screw it, I don't want weakness' and respawn. I'm halfway back to them when they go into the boss room with some of the leftover trash from the sounds of the music switching, and I take the free teleport in. Trash was already dead and they were already beating down the second boss. We finish and move on to the next hallway.

GNB realizes maybe a mit or two would be helpful here and throws Aurora on themselves. However the sage still doesn't seem to grasp their job and is still spamming Diagnosis, GNB decides to pull all the things and dies.

Guess who gets to eat dirt again after the tank goes down? In case you're wondering, it's me. Tank gets raised and panic healed, I get to sit on the floor and head back to spawn because apparently my alt is another cooldown to the mostly useless healer and tank. I get back to them, open up the gate to the last hallway and last boss, tank decides to floor it again and pulls all the mobs into the boss room.

    Ohboyherewego.mov

I see that we have at least lb1 up and pop it on the boss and lined up trash, and eventually it comes down to the boss tethering to the crystals on the side. I hear a LOT of 'you can't hit this boss' pings while I'm wailing on the crystal until about 30% left on the first one, then on the second one the sage gets the bright idea to stand next to the second one and eats an explosion to the face.

Because while cool people walk away from explosions, the not so smart people actually do go up and hug them.

Third crystal goes down, and both the tank and other mch are half dead again from being too close to the boss' ballerina twirl. We finally kill the boss and the tank insta-leaves, healer replies with 'Excellent work dears~'

I think I'll stick to daily beast tribes and fate farming.

Word of caution, be wary of couples in dungeon. Just got into a level 90 dungeon as a scholar. The tank (war) and two dps (rpr/nin) are from the same fc. Everyone knows war right? That unga bunga tank who doesn't need healers. Guess what? THIS tank needs a healer. I've used scholar so many times in 90s to the point I have it down. Usually, I would need only one mit + a regen and that's good but this, nope. Had to use everything. Nin seems to enjoy doing single targets and stand in aoes. Rpr doesn't like stack markers (MENTOR BTW). Told the tank to mit and rpr to stack because you people collect vuln stacks like pokemon and me, being a person who can tunnel vision when I know dps ain't gonna survive another raidwide, would also get hit and acquire a vuln stack. Told the tank to mit and then, he decided to afk. Again, sch is my best healer. Managed to heal through that without a tank. Rpr decided to insult me by saying I'm playing a bad job and say to play sage . Finally, we got to the final boss. Same thing happened. Everyone collect vuln stack like pokemons as the rpr threw Brazilians to me. So I decided to throw back my own mother tongue to them. They died a couple of times and then decided to not accept the raise and spawn back at the front. So yes, don't trust couple or people from the same fcs.

I love queueing into Weeping City, Ridorana, Orbonne, Bunker and/or Tower at Paradigm’s Breach as a healer just to drag 23 other players into one of them. Bonus point if there’s one of those rare souls that whines & cries in chat for not getting their sweet & fast CT raids then bails the moment some $h!t hits the fan, like that one Red Girl encounter where she repeats meteor for 3rd time; or that one time Calofisteri lives past her 9 hairs pattern, TGC does adds phase twice. Ho boi…

Honestly, considering a good amount of better players aren’t even subbing or playing the game at the moment, I decided to just never queue as a DPS at all if I’m alone ‘cause chances are good to be paired with some really lackluster folks in a vital role & I’m just not always mentally ready to to deal with that—much less if they decide to throw some pity tantrum like the screenshot post above mine & that one WAR that tried to pull off YPYT weeks ago.

I swear, I HATE those people. What's funny is that they are always the one who don't know how to play.

You queued for a raid dammit, what did you expect ? Don't do it if you don't have some time.

The only thing I've been thinking is:

"...TGC has more than one add phase?"
