We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

Yea, that definitely gives the lie to their statements that it's about job identity. And of course it's a cash shop outfit smh.

Nobody cares about artifact armor being sacred. Certainly FFXI didnt give two shits about being able to transmog artifact gear into other jobs. Why should FFXIV?

Several people have made it a point that they are on board with this suggestion, but that artifact gear crosses the line for them because those sets should be exclusive to those jobs. My point is mainly that I'm sure we arent' going to see an influx of irritated players getting upset that Samurai's artifact style is being extorted into an all classes level 1 gear set despite this one looking the way it does. I'm pretty sure if they released an image of that set during the next fanfest alongside the other gearsets for each job, and we didn't already know this was heavensturn gear, that players would automatically assume that was samurai gear.

I’ve said this probably a dozen times, but I myself am not interested in any artifact gear sets. Regardless, wanting artifact sets to stay restricted is as ridiculous and nonsensical as any other set of gear. There is exactly one line of reasoning to justify leaving AF gear restricted, which is an appeal to tradition—a line of reasoning that is famous for being a terrible argument that very often stands in opposition to logic and progress. “But it’s always been that way!” So was amputation as a treatment for infection before the creation of Penicillin.

Honestly at this point I'm just scraping at the bottom of the barrel. If they're going to give me the "no restriction except keep AF sacred" as a compromise then I'd gladly take that over today's "hahaha nun's tablecloth for your forever :v".

My bunch 'forbidden mixed role' glams combinations have at least 2-3 AF gears in 'em and it would be a godsent if they actually lift the restriction anyhow. I'm just not convinced they'd actually do that. Not even the non-AF ones.

Its not even just the whole set. Certain pieces in artifact gears can go well with other jobs to fit with the class fantasy anyway. Which is part of the crux of the argument with unrestricted glam anyway so people making such a weird hard line with AF gear being exempt of the rule is dumb

I don't even think that many people *really* feel that precious over artefact gear, it's like a bargaining tool to try to make the request for unrestricted glam as palatable as possible. At least that's why I always say it - I too have no real attachment to keeping artefact gear exclusive but it's an easy concession to make when pitching an idea to a chunk of people that can't think beyond "whm in plate mail will ruin my immersion"

Yeah but....its such a stupid and contrived bargaining chip. I think just the aspect of lifting role restrictions is already such a huge ask to begin with.

I mean, I agree but it's like the stages of grief, innit? We're just stuck on the bargaining step after asking for such a long time and getting nowhere.
