He also wouldn't have called his coworkers stubborn fools. (Weirdly, he might be the only Convocation member who wouldn't use that language, but we mostly only knew them as very grumpy, bitter Ascians; maybe Nabriales was nicer back then.) Or have shown such immediate faith to say 'where you go, we will follow'. ...And we know that his relative shortness actually does reflect in the ween-woon ghost apparitions, while this Ancient is the same height as everyone around them.
There's just no evidence at all to say that Elidibus was even there, and basically negative evidence that he'd say any of that, specifically.
