I didn't know about this filter, so I checked it out. There are 281 items in total, summing up to about $3,290.96 USD. Thats more than half the total Cash Shop money wise and about 40% of all items!
Buying every boost and story skip is about $546 USD.
If you took them out of all online exclusive items, the remaining total is around $2744.96 USD.
That is just over half the total price of all items on the Cash Shop!
Why would you want to exclude them however? They are an item available for purchase like any other.
I will point out that stuff like Train Sim, DCS, MSFS are bad a comparison They build in-depth niche products for niche audiences and are often not developed by the same studio. Nor is it expected for people to own all the DLC(modules) take DCS for example, somebody might be a big WW2 warbird enjoyer so they have Spitfire, P-51 and BF-109 modules and couldn't care less about the Jet and Rotary wing modules.

To me the idea of a potion skip is horrible because it means that the leveling experience in FF14 is so bad you'd rather pay to not have to go through it.
It actually means "going through the storyline a second (or third, or fourth) time on an alt is so time consuming that only having to work through 10 levels is much preferred". (My favorite)
It also means "I'm only here for the end-game raiding, so who cares about the story?"
It also means "What do you mean I have another 80 quests to get from ARR to HW storyline? That's 1/3 of the entire expansion!" (Subsequent expansions settled on a more sedate 50-somthing-or-less [mostly in the 40s] post x.0 MSQ quests)

I've only bought potion skips twice.
The first time was after an extended period of ill health and I fell really behind the rest of the FC. I wanted to play with my friends; so, I bought the skip potion so I could run the same content as my FC.
The second time was for an alt; but, that turned out to be a mistake because I ended up not enjoying the ninja class. Oops.

Because most people won't buy them. I've been playing for 10 years (more really, but 1.0 was kind of different) and I own no cash shop mounts, only about half the female outfits. Most of my purchases have been fantasias.
Leveling in this game is so easy, no one needs to buy skips.
Just because you dont buy things, doesnt mean they should not be included in the overall price. There is no data to go off of about if most people do or don't buy boosts or skips.Because most people won't buy them. If you pay attention to this forum or other places most posters say they haven't bought a skip. Or that they would buy one for an alt character as they didn't enjoy leveling up a job the first time. Same thing with story skips. Bought for alts because they don't want to go through the msq again or want to skip ARR. The only other time these even get mentioned is when someone comes here and complains about the early parts of the game. Thinking that they need to rush to the end game to have any amount of fun. Thinking that this game let alone its end game is anything akin to the other MMO they're coming over from. Or that the only way for them to have fun with their friends who have access to whatever the current end game is is to go and buy those skips. Many whom after they've gone and done so have come on here to post about their regret of ever doing so. As they didn't realize how rich this game's story is or how fun the older raids and trials are that they didn't realize again existed. That they could have gone and done while progressing their way through the MSQ.
