Would you pay for instanced housing

I got into a heated debate with my partner over this one; who said he would happily support this if it was <€5 which is i belive $7 or £3 for brits

got me wondering. would you pay for this monthly ontop of your sub? would this drive you away. is this a good or bad idea for CBU3 really hoping this thread doesnt give squex ideas

Honestly the housing scarcity has been such an issue for so long on so many worlds, that if they finally do instanced, the first one should be free. After all, no one who was lucky enough to get a current house had to pay extra for it. Then if you want extra houses for whatever reason, maybe then you pay a retainer-like fee, an extra $1-2 a month. Retainers are kinda similar: get two free and pay for additional.

I'm heavily against extra paid services on top of a subscription, so no. Feels like it's one step away from going all in on microtransactions imo

I would be fine with a less FOMO variant of ESO housing (sub long enough and you can buy the premium houses, as you get premium currency by being subbed, own as many houses as you want in many interesting locations, not monthly just one time purchase), the FOMO part is that they do, last I check, encourage FOMO by cycling houses rather than leaving them on the market.

Definitely would like to see SE bring the gil making tools outside of housing exclusives, like you could run airships from your garrison or something (that is part of the reason for shell FC- they do make crazy gil and encourages shells).

Would also like to second the island continuing to evolve with house features! My thoughts is improve apartments such everyone can have one. Allow players to place a magical doorway (Howels Moving Castle, FFXI Mog Door), then blend apartments with housing interiors such they become one and the same. Finally finish it off by allowing placement of exterior house pieces, so instead of a door you can have a whole house if you want.

Not without vast improvements to the housing system. We're talking full XYZ axis control, double if not triple the item limit, options for bigger yard space, adding balconies and honestly the list goes on. Basically, look at all the third third support nowadays and literally copy all of it as built in. Even then, it's still... questionable but at least you can argue we're getting something extra for the cost. Simply copying the current system wholesale with no changes whatsoever is a massive slap across the face of players unlucky to not get a free house.
