My server feels dead

That's the rub, unfortunately. On Dynamis going somewhere else is just better in every way. So, how are you supposed to bolster a community of people who are used to leaving? I'm not dooming and glooming. This is a legitimate concern that SE isn't addressing. The fact that part two of the Dynamis expansion is just completely gone speaks louder than their silence. Unfortunately, it's Aether or bust. Honestly, bust is looking more appealing if you follow me.

I wonder if a cross-DC duty/party finder would fix this. I think they've said it's technically possible. That might be the way to save it...?

Removing that level of server identity would fix it. Because that's all DC traveling to x datacenter is doing. It's cross DC DF/PF but with extra steps. Removing the steps makes staying the best option because of retainers, FCs, LS, CWLS and etc. It would literally fix the problem. Then Dynamis wouldn't be such a dud of a pick. If anything, Dynamis would go from barren and empty to completely full because of two things. It's free to move here, and there's loads of houses. So it has two perks right off the bat. Now, one would go away faster than the other, and both are finite, but you get the drift.

Then, 4 more servers would sound like an excellent idea. As it is now, we are Dawntrail overflow parking. And no amount of optimism is going to change my mind on that.
