    Queues don't pop for rival wings because new players dont know it exists because theres no roulette for it, and when it is more obvious that it exists and more people are queueing up for it during the Moogle Tome events it does actually seem both more popular and more fun than Frontlines.

    The fact that Yoshi P confirmed this, and that they didn't make any real meaningful changes earlier in the expansion until it's too late is disgusting. I'm sure some of those people participating in the competition would even agree with me, that they are capable of handling changes and nerfs and would balance their team and play style accordingly if it meant the rest of the game was less terrible for the majority of people who pay to play it.
    I'm going to play both the position of Devil's advocate and also a regular CC PvPer here.

    For starters, let me feel you in - I feel the pain of various jobs feeling like they should have never gotten the buffs they got (Dragoon in every patch since -50% Horrid Roar + White Mage still having Polymorph for example). It hurts, we have to live with it.

    However, to play devil's advocate for a moment - it is 100% justified to keep your ruleset and actionset stable when officially endorsed tournaments are ahead of them and to keep a tournament's integrity without asking them to learn two possible metagames. It is frankly not as simple as dedicated PvP games like Overwatch, Valorant or League where they actually have a framework to have different clients for different ballance patches, so to keep the dedicated Crystalline Conflict Regional Championship participants on a stable footing they simply choose to postpone larger changes until the regional championships have passed.

    If I were to be in the place of a participant, I'd find it incredibly unfair having to relearn how certain jobs operate (if mechanical changes) or having to adjust their strategy against the metagame few weeks before the tournament when it could have been postponed.


    It is arguably more selfish to demand job changes for the average player when important events are head than to keep the game stable for a limited selection of tournament players.

    Just brings me back to my earlier point then, what excuses do they have not to have seperate rules for FL/CC? It's obviously not working and it's not fun just take one look at the forum full of people talking about it instead of playing. Also my other point, obviously I'm aware they're not gonna cancel the tournament or change things that close to the tournament, but every patch and every change they've tried to make since 6.1 hasn't been enough. It's like 5 less potency here 5 more potency there, CDs increased or decreased by 1 second. All those changes could be actual decent changes that they made earlier to make a real difference but it's still the same unplayable garbage. It may be selfish but my mindset has the longevity and health of the game itself and the majority of its playerbase in mind as opposed to just generating buzz and hype and getting a bunch of new players in from watching the FanFest tournaments who all leave the game forever once they realize FL is unplayable mess or that they can't queue together with friends in CC. I stand by my post as idealistic, selfish and unrealistic as it may be it's just my opinion and it doesn't have to be correct.

    The only mode that gives sufficient PvE rewards.

    Remove the Roulette and the mode is even more dead than Rival Wings. Yes it's that bad compared to the others.
