Voted for Cyberpunk 2077 in the ongoing game category as the updates this year have been stellar. As for the community support, Larian were leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else with ensuring we had the best experience with Baldur's Gate 3 post-release.

Aww - well, I'm sure most of us dislike you too xIm actually glad FFXVI didnt get nominated for GOTY. It got recognition for its soundtrack which Im sure its the only thing that got universal praise and I agree with that.
FFXIV however doesnt deserve shit. I dont want any awards that would further boost the ego of this piss poor community. I dislike you all and I curse ever having to interact with the forums for the rest of my days.
This community and the devs needs to get some huge slices of humble pie before they can go back and bark about how "great" it is, because its not.

I think everyone knows that awards are just drama/meaningless at this point, but also:
This is the generic criteria for it. Even if you love the game to death, I don't really think transparency is something we excel at here due to the language barrier between us and the devs.Recognizing a game for outstanding community support, transparency and responsiveness, inclusive of social media activity and game updates/patches.
The GMs are not really there at all either from what I can tell.
Can't judge the games updates/patch times because I don't play other MMOs and I don't know how their schedules are compared to ours.

Any updates to a broken game will look stellar. Just look at 1.0 for that lol

People like to meme on the "best community by the way" but how that's phrased, that is FFXIV. Patches are so stable and easy to predict we can predict them months out, patch dates aren't missed, features that are communicated always make it in.
FFXIV has a 4 month patch schedule but the consistency and regularity of the patches are something that's pretty much unmatched with any MMO or live service game. Compare that to Halo Infinite or Overwatch 2, where features will be announced, then quietly dropped, and road map after road map created to generate hype and then none of the goals met.
Or Destiny 2, where bungie wll just cut features, yank content from the game because it's "too old", and patches are few and far between.
There's a lot to complain about but the consistency of SE supporting this game with patches is really not one of them. The players of this game really forget how good they have it compared to other live service games on dev support.
My issue with this is I feel XIV is just getting this due to being The MMO to play, similar to how people viewed WoW in 2008. It's a trendy game that got a lot of positivity during Covid, and don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for XIV being here during a time where social interaction was basically impossible for the sake of your health. But have we since then, or ever really, took a deep look into what XIV even is? The answer to that is no, to the uninitiated it's an MMO and what MMO comes to mind for most people? Oh so it's like WoW. Thats, it. No one looks at XIV for what it does Uniquely or how at one point it definitely did deserve this award for what it was doing. Atm I feel it's just another game you throw up there along with genshin because it's from an Industry sweetheart that people generally look at and think, They make good games, and then proceed to never pay attention to again.
Now when we look at Apex, Fortnite, and Cyberpunk, I think it's fair. Fortnite is a game for a generation of younger gamers, it's gonna be the game they talk to their kids about in the future, fair place, Cyberpunk managed to really hit it out of the park with it's 2.0 update and the DLC is really cool, and Apex is just a solid shooter, it very much carries the love of the Titanfall team.
3 games worth the award genuinely for what they do and have done and where they have been. But XIV atm, is not in a good enough spot for the on-going award or should it get it since no one outside of the FF community at large really try to understand XIV on a deeper lvl other then, All jobs on one Character and ERP venues.

ESO does this just as well if not better, BDO does this just as well if not better, Warframe does this just as well if not better. XIV ain't doin much special in terms of patch and content *consistency* Balance hasn;t been consistent, how they flip flop around on when they release relics has NOT been consistent for over 10 years, Alliance raids are never consistent. And an overly predictable schedule isn't a good thing, it means once you burn out of XIV theres nothing going on a majority of the time to bring you back because you already know whats gonna happen.People like to meme on the "best community by the way" but how that's phrased, that is FFXIV. Predictability can at times turn to Stagnancy.
