I am curious as watching and reading leads me to believe we are looking at a "under the hood" housing system revamp.

Ideally it would hopefully open the door to more interior layouts like the ever popular 1 floor "large" layout without a incredibly wasteful investment of lofts and partitions to block off 90% of the large to make a elaborate living space.

I suspect its all part of the same package.

I’m really hoping they’re investing some time and effort in doing different layouts like that. I have a small and that’s my preferred size; I like the yard layout and the interior floor and stair layout. What I’m hoping for is an attic (essentially the same size as my ground floor just adding a stairwell to the other side of the house) or the ability to add FC like extra rooms.

Along with talk of removing pillars, I’ve heard some people hoping that they would open it up to being able to change the position of staircases or maybe offer different layouts with the stairs in different places. Honestly that’s what I hated the most about mediums… if the inside had the staircases similar to the smalls it would be a lot easier to work with!

I know I’m a dreamer lol but since the insides are instanced, they have a lot more they can do with them. Really hopeful that they see the desire for more variety and customization here…

You should try to find a small you like to bid on in preparation! Or at least to have something til you manage to get something bigger.

There’s a record number of 10 mediums in this round on Bryn, and already climbing up into the 20s for bids on each of them on day 2! It’s so hard to get anything in this lotto on Crystal, but having something would be better than being homeless, especially if the mirage ends up being as good as we hope it can be. I mean, even if they just go with the existing interior layouts and call it a day, that’s something!

I suspect this ties in with Yoshi telling us they were looking at how to increase item limits in Vegas; because if Housing mirage did become a thing - 100 items for a large interior would be hilariously sparse. I suspect SE is looking at housing interiors entirely with regards to manipulation of both layout and limitation - which seems somewhat like a decent compromise as larges/mediums would still have exteriors that people would then commence complaining about. He told us a few months before Housing Mirage was mentioned that we would be getting the item limits increased in Dawntrail. Housing Mirage is still a work in progress that they haven't committed to implementing (but I doubt it would have been mentioned if they weren't fairly confident they can deliver).

It's still possible we'll get both at the same time but I wouldn't bet on it. If we do get Mirage, I strongly suspect that interior item limits will be tied to the interior size chosen and not the plot size.

There's still the question of what cost there will be to players for changing their interior size and if we'll be able to change them as often as we like or only one time after purchase. I doubt it is something we would be able to do for free.

I'd rather be given the option to design my own layout rather than rely on the developers to provide a handful of choices that may not suit what I have in mind. What if I wanted the staircases to upstairs and downstairs to be side by side or stacked to help create room divisions on the ground floor?

Oh for sure! Then I could do exactly what I’m picturing. But I’m trying to keep my expectations low even if my hopes are high! lol What I want isn’t even a really complicated design, but somehow I don’t feel like we’ll get that much customization, as much as I want it. And I’d definitely hope the item limit is dependent on size! Or if they go really crazy, they could just give us an insane 1000 item limit across the board, because hey, 90 didn’t break the island! lol I know, I dream!

I’m hoping we’ll get some more details around JP Fanfest, if they can squeeze in some housing previews alongside the new caster class reveal and female Hrothgar.

there is half empty ward and there is wards with several plots open and some few... it would make no sense to add more, when the ressource is not used up yet.

Edit:
If this is about some few servers, that is already permitting to many players in, get on another server if housing is that important, there is no such thing as dedicated servers to this and that other than in them players mind.
