Most Important Dawntrail Change to Keep me in FFXIV

Call me negative nancy is you will; but part of me thinks it really is what CBU3 try to do: replacing players like you & ty with the brand new tadpoles that barely knows the history of jobs lobotomization, homogenizing, and such—hoping to drown us in the sea of mediocrity.

Seems to me they’re succeeding in doing that—at least toward ty based on the OP.

Oh I am certainly grumpy, but I’d rather be an onion… :V

Frankly though, I STILL find things to enjoy in-game. But definitely aren’t coming from PvE for the most part. It’s the social aspect for the most part.

I remember reading another forum poster’s quote sayin’ something along the line: “FFXIV is like a cheap cafe. Foods are… acceptable, or bad. But if you got friends with you, it can be a nice place to hang around, until they’re gone.” — and it personally rings true to my own sentiment.

Let's say that truly is what they're doing.

What will you do? Is there another MMORPG giving you what you want, or would you give up on MMOs for single player games?

I’m probably not exactly the type of player they’re trying to replace—but I’m also not in the group of players they’re trying to attract, so I can't really answer your question. With that being said, moving on is very unlikely for a person like myself who’s tend to be very attached to one game at a time. I’m bad at multi tasking games.

So long they do not mess up -that social aspect- of this game (unlikely IMHO), chances are high I’ll remain here. But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop $h!tt!ng on… say, things like their designed healer gameplay, post patch 6.3 FL Shatter map, etc.

See, this is the kind of attitude I can respect. You admit that while there is a lot you'd like to see improved, there are things that keep you here. The mochachino types that just spew hatred for this game constantly can't even admit that they actually love the game, even when they dislike parts of it.
