Rhalgrs Reach should never have existed

You weren't making a good point. Story wise it made a lot more sense for the Resistance to set up a base in Rhalgr's Reach than elsewhere.

That's subjective. I think it's an interesting and fairly valid point, actually.

Rhalgr's Reach is a pretty boring area that doesn't have much relevance or point to it following SB's MSQ, and Ala Mhigo does suffer from being shunted in right at the end of the expansion as a vague overworld area after being overshadowed by Doma for much of the story, despite being portrayed as a fairly important piece of Eorzea's story prior to that. Resistances often have hubs hidden throughout the place they're trying to liberate, and personally I think it would have been a much more entertaining angle to attempt to liberate the city from within via a more secretive, espionage-type route that then results in the all-out war and eventual face off with Zenos that we do get. We would have seen much more of Ala Mhigo, its culture, its people and their story than we did from seventy odd miles away hanging around old villages and abandoned training grounds, and actually get a feel for the impact of the occupation in the city proper and the conflict with the Garleans, while developing more of a bond with them in the way we did the Domans and Ishgardians. It would have gone a long way in mitigating the blandness that colours their portion of the story.

I feel it was wasted, yes... it was fine till Zenos broke in, after that we should have hidden in some of the villages, sneak into the city and retake part of it - then storm the Palace and have our hub based around there (potential Ala Mhigo restoration and housing for 7/8/9.0...) and have a Proper city there. We know its there, just not accessible for us. It made me dislike stormbloods hubs a lot. I loved Kugane, but besides the MB and Eureka and the Inn there was nothing there (the rowena npc's were added much later).

IMO stormblood suffered from the split and the split itself suffered from them insisting on the 4.0 + 4.1-4.3 + 4.4-4.5 formula.

We needed to liberate Ala Mhigo in order to explore it. Since it's the last dungeon, it doesn't make sense if the secondary hub is only accessible after the game ends.

Ah yes, the places where we were a neutral party upon first arrival, as opposed to Imperial territory where we're public enemy number one.

Yes, Endwalker makes it a point that the average citizen in Garlemald doesn't know what we look like, but Ala Mhigo is a lot closer, and we were pretty visible in the war there.

A fair point but zenos also sabotaged the entire war effort just to have someone to fight with. With him refusing to finish us off the imperial raid lost a lot of its bite while at the same time eorzean alliance reinforcements arriving. If this raid had happened before the involvement of the scions and the alliance the rebels would have had to abandon rhalgr's reach but that has changed, with baelsar's wall and then later the bridge falling under allied control. At that point it was a legit stronghold, backed up by enough reinforcements to prevent an imperial raid from permanently occupying it.

Well that's subjective, but also, these are forums and we need to communicate like actual human beings. If you think someone is making a poor point then you need to express it in words.

If that person is trolling or being a bad actor then you just shouldn't write anything.

I know I do the same thing Stormy did sometimes too. I won't even deny it, but most of that just comes down to forum culture. It's not something we should actively be doing or encouraging. I really think in general the forum needs to reign in the toxicity that it's been displaying for the last week. It's actually somehow feels worse than when titanmen was necroing every thread in sight.

It’s a common tactic in these forums for people to troll bait the very first comment. Person was bored, and wanted to get attention. All the other trolls, or people who just happen to not like me then upvote to gaslight, and make me look like the bad guy. It’s classic internet trolling on a forum.

And Square Enix ain’t doing nothing to fix it despite how toxic it has been around here for several years now.
