Can we get some clarification on Solo Blunderville instances?

I got in solo as well within an hour of the worlds going up, even though lots of people were there on my world alone.

I think it is just like the chocobo races where it tries to bring 24 people into an instance, but if it doesn't manage it after a minute or so then it just starts anyway. So if there are 25 people then you could get into one on your own. I'm not certain why others wouldn't join in that time when it's new content, so maybe each instance also sort of rotates how relevant it is like Eureka and Bozja do.

One time in Eureka for example the instance locked and I was in there alone for 3 hours, and near the end of it, it opened up again and everyone joined saying "fresh instance".

I can only confirm with my wife, when the two of us were in party and did it together, only one of us could get past the first round, i think she then had to do the 2nd (not sure if she had to actually do that one, though) and 3rd, which was still basically a free win.

This happened to me and my partner too! Waited well over 5 min for an instance for 30 sec of playing together. I can't face the boredom of requeuing to see if it happens every time. Just gonna have to solo-queue it and hope we get matchmade like CC. Or just like CC, not even bother >:C

I'd be surprised if it is something that can be gamed. And also not surprised, I guess. Objectively, yea, it's not "fair". But I dunno, of all the things in FFXIV that I have an issue with, a title for 100 wins of this event.... my personal view is meh. If someone can game it, more power to them.

For a Cross over with too many variables not allowing players to have 0 BS, Work as intended Scenario.

So Reasonable that I would partake in it if I knew how to get 100 solo guaranteed.

otherwise it's a, is it worth it to travel to a DC with no access to retainers as I farm.

If you have to wait for 5 minutes and the game doesnt manage to put you into a real lobby i think you should be compensated with a free win. No need to be extra punished with a cancelled game and an extra queue (which could again place you in an empty lobby)

I mean I don't have an issue with them farming wins for the title. I've said this multiple times, not sure why people keep misinterpreting. This isn't a thread on, "Oh no, people are successfully working towards their goals and being happy." This a thread on people holding up the instances because they think their goal is more valuable than the time of 23 other players.

It's more so that there's limited instances on each DC, and that if you force a solo instance during peak times then you're making 23 other people wait.

That's a SE problem, not something for us to be concerned about. We don't control when their matchmaking screws up.

If you get a solo instance and you really feel that bad about tying up an instance, you can just leave if you really want to. Ultimately though it really isn't going to make that big of a difference in the grand scheme of things. Any time you pop a queue for anything in the DF you are potentially delaying another player's queue; you shouldn't just not ever queue for anything as a result.


Another thing to note is that no matter how packed an instance is, only one person at most is going to get a win from it, whether it's just you or 24 there. A solo instance is probably going to go a lot faster too, since there won't be any waiting time after you qualify.

That's fair. I guess it depends on each DC. Materia, I had one instance of doing it solo. Every other time, I popped in straight away (with various total numbers present), so it seems like there's always an instance ready to go? But, again, that's just from Materia.
