If portrait in Warning state -> Regen portrait using new gear, without changing anything else. Instead making new portrait with default settings. Or when making a new portait run import subfunction, from previous portrait, since import function already implemented.

This ignores the weird bug i get when i change jobs/classes too fast(? - dk if that's the reason) where the portrait is in warning and for some reason can't be regenerated.

Your solution also needs to be ran all the time unless there is a hook on "portrait in warning state" which idk if there is. It will also change the portrait even if the player doesn't want that. Idk why you wouldn't but still.

The job df should be easier because you can already not que as blue mage, if your ilevel is too low, if you haven't unlocked all the content needed, or are on a gatherer/crafter.

I am talking about basic functionality, ofc there may be bugs. But right now Portraits are missing bare minimum stuff to just Work, even if u dont spam job change very fast.
My point is that this portraits can be fixed very ez, but devs does not fix them, pretending the problem does not exits, and here people ask devs about basic Job check after level ~35-50.

All of this portrait stuff just seems like you deflecting from your choice to roll as a class, rather than a job? If you want to play like that, you should be doing it through PF. If you cannot fill through PF, maybe that is a hint that the way you play is not actually supported by the community.
Square should just ditch the job stones as "equipable" items. You get it rewarded to you, on completing of the lvl 30 class quests (or the job quest, for later expansions) and it loads automatically when you change jobs, with the class role no longer available to load past 30. In PF, you can also select specific class/jobs that can join. I don't see why they can't do that for DF, just make the class roles unable to join duties above 30.

Got Royal City of Rabanastre with a WHOLE BUNCH of new players and it was a beautiful disaster. We slowly and painfully wiped on Matteus! I got to see all the old mechanics I'd forgotten all about! We had tank dc and replace into that tank insta dcing. It was super fun! It's been a long time since it was like that

I envy that, the "longest" Matteus fight i got was after finishing the bubble + frog part...

Because changing simple things in game is very hard for the devs right now, thats why I brought the portrait system as example: a broken feature, which requires a very simple fix, but nobody fix it.

Because it's pure whataboutism and nothing more.

Even if SE changed it on the very next patch, you can already bet that she would be screaming on the forums about it, telling them to revert and attempting to point out how they ruined the game for so many players who also refuse to play without a job stone.

I still have no idea how people come to the conclusion that LB should only be for bosses and never for trash. It's the same argument as "saving cooldowns" when they'll be off cooldown later if you use them now. Like refusing to use Guren as Samurai because you want to use Senei on the boss; you have a perfectly good attack that's sitting there, does a lot of damage, and in fact would do a hell of a lot more than Senei against a single target. But because of sheer stubbornness, just doesn't get used.

A resource is a resource, and sitting on that resource when it's full wastes future uses of that resource, doesn't matter if it's Beast Gauge, Kenki, a cooldown, Limit Break, etc.

The only reason I end up not using LB on trash is because I'm forgetful and too busy bursting to realise that LB is available as RDM

I'm not sure if you support the healer or not (not a native, sorry if I missed the irony), but he's clearly throwing a tantrum. The lb is misused (and still, sometimes using it on a pack can avoid a wipe AND be more interesting), so what? It's going to waste 1 minute on the boss? My God. Between the player who refuses to understand that doing without his job stone = asking others to PL him, and those who grumble about a tiny "loss of time"... Phew.

Another rant (again): Doma Castle, I tell the tank he can totally w2w and not just take two packs. The player is level 90, very good stuff, dps too, normally no worries. It was really nicely said ("feel free to w2w if you feel like it " ), and I wasn't planning to go pull or yell at anyone if he didn't.

He promptly started to slow down, taking one pack after another. It took a long time.

No - don't support the quoted healer at all. Whatsoever.

I mean, I use LB on trash mobs fairly often and it's been a bit of a godsend on occasion. Though I do recall a RDM asking me "WTF with the LB?" once when I used it to all but clear a troublesome trash mob near the end of 'The Fell Court of Troia'.
