FFXIV music file API + orchestrion list (with restrictions) = mobile orchestrion. Crazy.
That's because third party plugins take shortcuts to make things possible. It gets the job done but in lazy and possibly damaging ways. Officially supported tools they would like to have done professionally clean and fluently. Or more specifically, future proofed to not interfere with other things in the game. There's also possible licensing or other nontechnical reasons that could be preventing them doing such things. Not every barrier is code related. But if the devs think something would be difficult to do, then there's probably a hurdle that third party devs don't have to deal with that the main team has to be restricted with.

Devs and third party makers are not held by the same standards. Third Party tools will do anything and everything to make something possible. The actual official tools have to abide by certain standards and other possible cooperate related shenanigans. A common example is how devs say making outfits for all the races is difficult but third-party tools have accomplished the same thing. There is probably a perfectly logically explanation for these things that people tend to overlook or simply don't care. It's not a matter of it can't be done, but the methods that the developers want it to be done through are likely to complex.
