I will hold out the slightest hope that they will show female Hrothgar at the EU fan fest. They don't need to show our mysterious one, but they could show them as a whole. This way it keeps the mystery of how does she look, while giving us a reveal. It will also time it nicely with the fresh cutscene and the release of the third volume of Encyclopedia Eorzea, which we know has information about them (or better said, Hrothgar in general).

But even if they won't show them now and push it for the JP one. I will still be fine in the knowledge that we 100% will get them. Unlike before where, I feel like it was still in the air, from no communication or news on them, as well as that rumour going around of female Hrothgar being pushed to 8.0. As of now, I am very happy, we got something!

Way to have a heel turn of expectations. I was freaking mortified over the angle of "legs-chan" in the cutscene, thought It was a grey skin mid-highlander that was really really short. But now, I'm a bit more at ease. I would always want bigger and buffer, but most hroth-bros on social media post with a more "glamorous" bod anyway. So for vanilla, it's alright, if the final design gives em a more rougher fur texture, claw feet of course, and an actual beast face. But, now it's gonna be even more jarring if hrothgals will be standing upright. I guess it would be funny, if they stand as tall, or taller than shrimped gamer stance catdads, but I think a male hrothgar update on the stance(be less slouched) would be a welcoming compromise. Or, give hrothgars an exclusive change stance emote/toggle, for standing/walking to be upright lol


Now, who's all excited to make Warrior of Legs the new meme sensation? I know, NPC, but I know a lot of ppl who would gladly fantasia to a pair of showgirl hams that can crush a watermelon. I can see YoshiP bringing the star shins on stage for an interview at EU fan-fest, foot tapping a code to "please look forward to it."

IIRC the issue with the CS is that it showed the legs from an angle that didn't actually show much, if any, of the fur textures. So it could easily be confused for a Femroe or Femhighlander. The one clue I had that it was a unique race was that it's got actual toes instead of a block of playdoh for a foot like the old races. Sizewise, it looks to be around my character's size when I look at the comparison pic of it next to Erenville (I'm Femhighlander, 100 height iirc), so assuming that the legs are at exactly halfway (because default), 100 could scale to around... I'd predict around 50 on the Femroe height slider. Essentially, halfway between FemHighlander and FemRoe (so Femroe does not get dethroned from it's title as 'tallest woman') Which is not quite as tall as I'd like, but it is what it is. Any taller than FemRoe and it'd start seeing the 'running feels off, because you have to sync your runspeed with the smaller races' issue you see on other tall races. Femroe was about the limit on that one for me, MaleRoe/Hroth look cumbersome because they cross the line

Maybe the males evolved over time to have the hunch like that because of their constant deference to the queen, like, by lowering their head to show respect so much it kinda just locked into place over time?

The angle didn't really show the toes enough to let me notice a difference. Me and my partner just went "that's a highlander," at first. Because, unlike Yugiri's introduction which shows nothing but clothed outlines of what could be. I think showing clawless toes really gives away too much information against the idea of it being a femhroth, even if it's just a quick glance in CS. Are loafers banned in this game's Brazil? And to top it off, they chose a skin hue that seems to purposely obscure the pinch of fur texture. If it is femhroth, and the design, model and textures will be different/finished. Then the model of this NPC, which will be changed to align with what was shown in Fanfest, might be way jarring than what was hinted previous. Unless, like with Yugiri's under-coat model post Heavensward. This change will affect this CS too. So the surreal disconnect will just be for us and not future players.

I always felt the hunch, outside of the generic association for big beast races, was more for adapting to uneven, high and mountainous, ruthless terrain. Like how hikers zig zag, bring themselves closer to the ground when climbing up steep altitudes. Or powerlifters needing to lower themselves for deadlifts, except hrothgars didn't have a back brace lol. I never had issue with running/sprinting while hunched, made my Warrior draw weapon stance look seamless and cool. Standing and maybe walking just made me wanting. Though all the races(minus Viera or Miqote) stiff, upright, undrawn stances even when running. It all looks so lifeless compared an unsymmetrical one. I assumed that they(femhroths) wouldn't be as tall as femroe, even the male hrothgars are shorter than them, via 50%, 100%, even hroth upright idle stance. It just seems Roegadyns are so poorly handled by the devs, that the only "you did your best" trophy they get is for being the tallest. While I'm open to the idea of lessening the slouch for males if females don't have it. I just want the opposite of what female/male vieras have in height difference, so only a handful of cm. But having both being equal in height, or have females slightly taller because of male hunch perspective could be a fun twist.
