Insane gear ilvl requirement for the lvl 60 alliance roulette

A level 60 dungeon/raid should only need a level 60 gear requirement. Even my highest level, on that world, a 74 smn, cannot meet that gear requirement. I can only guess that its set to require level 80+ gear, which is insane, just to do a level 60 raid. I, for one, will no longer be queing for alliance raids, and i know I'm not alone in this, so I will wish good luck to the first timers getting your groups for those raids. Whoever chose the new ilvl requirement basically cut your chances to almost none.

From my work in market research, I should have known that I would only get negative replies here, as the typical way of it is 10 negative comments to maybe one positive helpful comment, but that's only if a person with anything helpful decides to speak up. 90% of the time that won't happen though. So, I will take my own advice to discouraged persons, and ignore all the negative, knowing that the possible helpful ones wouldn't be bothered to post. I will make no replies, since I have no wish to add to any negatives where the hope is to stir up the drama pot.

My level 74 summoner, which is my highest level on that data center, and that world, can't even make that ilvl requirement. My best guess is that she might come close at level 80...maybe.

I am confused as to what op is actually encountering.
Does he want to run one of the lvl 60 raids direct or the roulette?
if its the roulette and you qeue with a lvl 74 character/class its only natural the roulette requires lvl 70 ilvl gear.
The whole point is to avoid people forcing lower level raid series then their lvl allows them to run

People got off light with just the scaling IL requirement. Were the devs as strict as I would like them to be, everyone would be required to have the IL for the highest available raid they've unlocked at that level and they would have to unlock at least the first raid of that level.

I meant that with at least one 90 character under your belt I would've thought you'd know how to reach an item level requirement by now.

As others have pointed out, the Alliance Raid roulette isn't just for the level 60 Alliance raid. It covers all Alliance raids in the game from 50 to 90.

Players are now expected to have gear appropriate for the job level that they are using to queue for the roulette. This isn't unreasonable. Gear is usually easy to obtain from the market board if you don't have access to the appropriate tomestone vendors and are not a crafter. You can also ask friends who are crafters to help you.

If the job you're using is level 74, you'll be asked to have an average ilvl of 305 equipped. Considering the standard gear for level 74 is ilvl 403, it is not impossible to acquire.

The hunt vendors in Kugane and Rhalgar's Reach sell ilvl 310 and 330 gear for Centurio seals, which can be earned from both Heavensward and Stormblood hunts. A full set of the 310 Ala Mhigan gear only costs 420 Centurio Seals, easily earned doing a couple of days of hunt bills if you're not lucky enough to catch some S rank spawns.

Crafted 70-74 gear can be found in the following ilvls on the market board: 320, 350, 380, 385, 395 and 403. Mix and match to get to the needed ilvl. Don't forget to check with friends who may be able to craft the gear for you much cheaper than the items sell for if you get them the materials needed (desynthesis has made most materials very inexpensive).

If you're using a level 60-69 job, then you'll only need to have ilvl 175 equipped. That shouldn't be a problem for you if you have the Mhach raid unlocked already.

If you were hoping to get other players outraged on your behalf, I'm sorry. Gearing in this game might have a few awkward spots due to players out leveling MSQ but it's by no means impossible or even difficult to get what you need.

So this reply isnt to the OP, since they say they wont be looking or replying. Instead, this is to any new players who may come across this post and potentially worry. Dont worry.

This change has(at least in limited testing over the last couple weeks since the patch went live) IMPROVED que time for new players trying to get raids that arent in the Crystal Tower set. The requirements to run any individual raid have not changed at all. The roulette for alliances now has scaling requirements(essentially, you need to be equipped as a character of your level to que for the roulette - the ilvl required going up at 60, 70, 80 and 90) based on the class you want to use in the roulette. Had the OP qued directly for whatever raid(s) they wanted, they wouldnt have even noticed the change. They could also use the market board or craft themselves some level 70 gear, and their 74 summoner would be able to que for the roulette again until they got to 80. Or they could have switched to a lower level class, and the requirement would be based on that lower level. This change wasnt perfect, but its not the total catastrophe some make it out to be.
