Anima. Not Wind-up Anima, mind. The little fairy-like puppet your Anima Weapon's soul can possess. After everything you go through to get it to its finished state, the thing is practically a kid. Your kid. Seems almost cruel to have it rot at the bottom of the armory chest.

Maybe not my absolute favorite, but my WoL uses the name Squirrel as a nod to an ancient forum handle. And one of the first minions I got back when I hadn't finished ARR was a nutkin drop from a PotD coffer. It was one of the first minions that would crawl up to sit on my shoulder, it fit my theme, and it was adorable and had a cute idle animation. Even if nowadays I cycle through favorite NPC minions like Ysayle, FSH related minions (It took close to 200 attempts to get that bucket so it's my companion during Legendary Fish grinds), and other cute animal minions like the Siamese cat and Silkie, the nutkin was the first.

all of these are good choices. I love the cat minions in this game- they are very cute. Took a look at the bucket minion and I cannot help but wonder how that fish survives- very small area for a goldfish. Then again, the description implies that fish is temporary so I can assume every time it is summoned a new goldfish is inside it. I kind of want it. Maybe next time I fish I'll go for it.

I typed out an initial response but decided to look up the anima minion. Was kind of wondering what that was when I saw screenshots of it. Super cute! Might one day go for a relic weapon or two

Not that I am aware of (but then I've never seen two people with the Wind up Helios and another 'Ancient' minion out together, so I haven't been able to check this).

The only minions that do interact that I know of are the Wind up Bahamut and Wind up Louisoix will start fighting (Louisoix starts firing spells and Bahamut breathes flames), and the Courel Kitten and Wolf Pup with play fight like how cats and dogs do, but I'm not sure if any others do. It might have required too much time to have to program extra scripting to the minions to handle this so they probably dropped adding such animations long ago (those minions are all old - pre-HW in fact).

Which is a shame, as it was fun to see.

The moogle minions from Eternal Bond ceremonies will gather in circles and dance. I've seen up to four grouping up.

Wind-up Calca and Brina will also dance with each other. Not sure if they only work in pairs or if larger groups will form. Wind-up Ultros used to dance with them too, but it was apparently a bug and, sadly, was patched out.

Of course, these are also older minions.
