Young players are not going to play FF14

Maybe just maybe the game should have focused on courting Final Fantasy players instead of Fortnite and Overwatch players.

Pretty sure I remember you saying a few months back (like 2 or so) that you were quitting and wouldnt come back, and yet here you are as Valkyrie just mentioned, so obviously you must like something in the game

Might be a good time to make it make sense and quit for good if you despise this game so much and its direction, I disagree with a lot of things in FFXIV and you bet I voice them and I even argue with a lot of people on the forums about it, but there are quite a few things I also love about FFXIV, you on the other hand, just want to talk bad about the game and how it's going to only get worse because of the direction it's taking since it doesnt cater to what you want, well news flash, the direction it's taking will stay the direction it's taking, and if it no longers caters to you, that's too bad, time to move on bud and play something more to your liking, subscribing just for the forums to give us your novels of story that you'd like to see in the game is not helping the game's direction, you're literally just wasting your time, this is not your game, it's SE's.

most of these doomsdayers refuse to admit ffxiv is still the best on the market. they dont leave because they KNOW how much worse it is elsewhere

Sadly I really don't think that FFXIV is the best anymore for a number of reasons, even though I would have strongly argued in its favor in the past.

If you're after a true FF-themed MMORPG, FFXI is still the best one in terms of having classic jobs that play true to their nature.

If you're heavily oriented towards fantasy worlds like I am, WoW or ESO provides that without all the goofy stuff that keeps being injected into FFXIV like the gym gear.

As for story, it isn't difficult to find games that don't insist on the level of preaching present in FFXIV especially with the controversial themes Endwalker tried and failed to address properly.

FFXIV's pillars that once held it up have completely crumbled in my view. The sort of gameplay changes we've seen especially on my main job crossed the line from being more convenient to straight up unfun. The story arc that I was excited for got rushed to its conclusion and thrown out in exchange for a Beach Episode expansion featuring a terrible looking area and an even worse cast of characters. As I said before, it just does not feel like a well made FF game anymore. And I strongly wish these weren't the circumstances the game is facing.

I would also love some ff11 features in ff14 but i also enjoy aspects of how ff14 is currently. But he thinks his horrible fanfictions will magically make ff14 somehow "good" and fix the game when really it's something only he would enjoy and hardly anyone else would. He wants a game that's just for him and no one else.

I'm not even gonna waste time responding to all of this. You do nothing BUT preach here so pot meet kettle. At least in game its generally when warranted and even then it's not preaching.

You then speak of goofy stuff if the game like gym wear but your old pick was you in a car that transforms and flys...tf are you talking about?

As someone who invested a lot of time into doing all/as much story content possible as I go in both games, I don't understand the WoW comment. Most, if not almost all of FFXIV's absurd 'goofiness' is condensed into rather blatantly and on the nose goofy sidequestlines like Hildy.

Whereas in the other game, there's been goofy comedy nearly every other quest, especially with the post-cataclysm revamp of the original world (Budd and friends, Keeshan, goblin quests, harrison jones, etc)
