We still don't have the King Porxie mount either from anywhere outside of JP.
It has nothing to do with what company is holding the event.KFC is a world-wide company. I don't understand why they can't do that even through the entire world. We have plenty of player in Europe or North America, yet we feel like we are left on the side...
Please don't do that kind of event anymore, unless it's world wide
It has to do with the laws regarding promotional giveaways where you live.
It's easy for SE to hold a JP only giveaway because the only need to worry about the relevant laws in Japan.
It's more difficult to hold a giveaway in NA because while the US and Canada are the main two countries, states in the US and provinces in Canada can each have their own laws affecting giveaways. Fortunately, most of the states and provinces follow the standards set by their national governments so companies will still hold their promotions but exclude residents in those states and provinces that don't.
It's even more difficult to do a promotion in EU because there are 50 different countries with various levels of local government and different laws to navigate. It reaches a point that the time and expense needed to get the promotion approved in at least most of those countries is greater than the marketing value they expect to receive from the promotion. Those rare occasions where they try to hold a promotion in at least a couple of countries that have less restrictive laws, they'll get complaints from those that have to be excluded.
If residents don't like being habitually excluded from promotional events, they need to take it up with their local/regional lawmakers.

I don't think they normally announce all regions simultaneously for things like this, since it's usually a different method of getting the thing. Chocorpokkur was a Lawson thing in Japan and then later announced as a Butterfingers thing in NA. They might just still be working out the details for a collab in NA.
Same. Some EU person was telling me "at least you got it in the US" and I was like "That's even WORST: It was where 95% of us COULDN'T get it, but because we got that, we'll never get a more accessible shot at it."
Butterfinger was bleh (because it's sticky and unpleasant to me to eat and I tend to avoid them anyway), but at least anyone with a Walmart or Dollar General nearby could participate. And KFC, sure it's not GOOD for you, but it's yummy enough to splurge once in a blue moon, so buying a chicken bucket I can eat off of for a couple days and getting an emote would be something I'd actually be game for.
100% agreed. It's not some niche Japanese only company, and if they're willing to partner there to get more Japanese customers, it's not like it would be hard for them to partner here in the US or in Europe/OCE. It's not like they'd LOSE customers and the winning is a digital item made by another company, so they have literally nothing to lose and, at worst, sell a few extra buckets of chicken.KFC is a world-wide company. Wrong. as Jojoya clearly explained NA is not some monolithic block. Some people in NA were eligible for the pizza and the Butterfinger . (Square marketing is not very kind to Canadian residents when it applies to shipping charges are regional pricing either but that's a rant for another day).![]()

It's just as bad if not worse for Alaska. They adhere to the standard US laws for promotions but if the prize has to be shipped, they get excluded. Shipping to Alaska is extremely expensive.

KFC in Japan is under the control of Mitsubishi. They have majority control so in a way, it IS a niche. SE would have negotiated with Mitsubishi.. not KFC in the US. for all we know, they could have proposed the same thing for the US market and it was turned down. As was said, different regions have different rules, laws and marketing. we have zero idea if they did or didnt, all thats going on here is conjecture and "why cant I have a 'eat chicken' emote too??"100% agreed. as you pointed out, the US gets things that other regions do not. it happens, no need to get your shorts in a knot over it in some form of "outrage"

Now that would get me even more annoyed. At some point you would think that someone would want to look at the the cost (number of shipments to Alaska) vs what is the loss to your brand when your customers start talking about how they feel ripped off by these practises. (Not to mention other regions - I've seen some mind-blowing shipping costs quoted for Australia).

Region exclusives are the worst type of exclusives. Oh your nationality is X or you play in Region Y? Too bad, no fun for you.
