here comes the "filthy casual" talk again lmao. Other people wanting to play other content at different levels of difficulty or intensity shouldn't make you feel so self conscious about your own commitment.Did you miss the part when I said I also do casual content? I have some alts that I play sometimes. I don't just hang out, I do things, simple things, because the least thing I need after work it's to feel like I have more work to do. Ocean fishing, dailies, old relics farm. I have plenty of things to do that help me unwind.
And I usually finish the msq content in a few hours myself.
And still I'd rather enjoy my filthy casualness here than continue to deal with WoW borderline predatory practices when it comes to chaining players to the game.
If you wish to be passive aggressive, at least do it while responding to me. Thank you.
And not once did I say that's a bad thing. In fact I mentioned in a previous post that it's good when those in the race for world first get to move on after they achieved what they wanted.
And in fact they seem to understand that taking a break is not a bad thing.
No one disagrees that taking breaks is healthy! But it's so irritating to hear it as a catch-all response to any criticism of the game. Why do you assume anyone that wants to play the game more is brainwashed and enslaved? How long of a break is acceptable to you before they're allowed to return and want to play again?

While it's nice that you're enjoying the game, ocean fishing and old relic farming are from past expansions. Think back on how often you actually interact with content from EW. Island sanctuary, Orthos, relic(this one probably the most because dailies), Variant/Criterion dungeons, crystalline conflict, etc. The truth is, EW is just bare and surface levels worth of content that gets boring after a few hours, and what's worse is that they don't make me feel like I'm playing with other players, it's as if the MMO part of MMORPG is just completely ripped off.Did you miss the part when I said I also do casual content? I'm sure there's plenty of people who understand that there's a plethora of things to do in 14, if you dip into previous expansions and start digging at old content, but that's not EW. Not everyone has the new or newer player experience that can still look at the game and say "oooh relic and stuff from xyz" when they were there at release, tried it out and finished it or wasn't a fan of it.
Fwiw, I raid in this game, I raided a lot and I still do. It's why I continued for so long because of the friends I've made along the way and the first time seeing bahamut prime made me go "my god", hearing Answers play in the background and seeing teraflare for the first time was that memorable. I have clips and vods of my groups with our first clears, our triumphs and adversities. I'm not burnt out of this game, I'm just bored, the content for someone who's been playing since 2.x, has gotten stale, but it hasn't stopped me from at least trying it out to see what it's like. I've maxed my island sanctuary passively, some grinds for maybe 1000 points here or there to get the next level but nothing egregious like the first week people. I've soloed EO. I just buy relic items when I eventually get enough tomes. I've done the paths for variant, criterion doesn't really interest me due to effort/rewards but I gave the first one a shot with some friends, while the fights themselves were pretty interesting, the rewards were lackluster. I even got to diamond in crystalline conflict because they promises portrait borders.
Everyone understands that taking a break is normal and healthy, no one is disputing that. The main complaint is that EW is just lackluster, boring and frankly, insulting. It's complete maintenance mode and while it's okay for the game to have these kinds of lulls, the expansion offers nothing to say "Hey, we're still worthy of your time even if it's just an hour or two," and that's the worst part of it. EW refuses to catch your attention even there's a general sentiment to wanting to play the game.
You can continue to play the game casually if we get actual content to play through. Nobody is going to drag you by the neck to force you into savage or ultimates. The game is severely lacking in any sort of endgame progression. Yes, WoW might be too much. But no, the vast majority of us don't want it to become a 1 to 1 with WoW.. We just want stuff to do.Did you miss the part when I said I also do casual content? I have some alts that I play sometimes. Me? To hang out with friends, to do the most casual of contents, to simply unwind after a long day of work.
Others? It seems they remain subbed to simply dread the fact that they feel they have to stay subbed and then complain about it. In which case, it's better to take a break.
First and foremost, I wasn't here 4 years ago, so save it with the "you people". But I will point out that if these complains have been going for so long, clearly, it hasn't killed the game to have a draught in between xpacs.
Second, if you need a reason other than chilling in a videogame, a leisure activity, then again, I feel you're approaching things in an odd way.
So, not only are you a brand new fresh player who doesn't even understand the game at any level deep enough to truly discuss it, but you're also steadfast that you playing an MMO like a mobile tap game is what MMOs should TRULY be
*Joins 10+ year running game over half a decade late
*Asserts their opinion as the definitive opinion of FFXIV
*Claims long time players are wrong for expressing their criticisms
*Begs desperately on forum for the game to become Candy Crush
*"Y ppl disagree with me???"
*"lul just take a break and never give feedback to the devs"
I don’t understand it, like I am new to playin my ESO and while I’m having fun because I have a massive backlog I never feel the need to go onto the forums and tell the people who’ve played much longer than me how their criticisms are wrong and they should take a break just lmao
Neat.
Will he (and MrHappy cause there's that other thread) bring this up to Yoshida's face next time they get invited to a media event??
I hope that's the next step content creators make. I find that content creators make these videos then when they have the chance to interview yoship during media tours they back track and never confront the issues they have to him directly. Which defeats the purpose of making these videos if they have issues with the game but don't bring up there issues directly to the source and head guy.
That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
