Maybe because people agree with her criticism. For month people that have this kind of criticism has been shut down by some part of the community saying "Your opinion doesn't count, you're a hater" or "you're just a small vocal part of the community". That thread being so popular is just a proof that there is more to that, that's a subject people care about. The fact the thread on the new video (which was far weaker than the previous one) from yesterday or the day before is already dying out when the first one continue to live strong goes that way.

I wish we could do without all the ad-hominem and the trolls bloating the thread but hey, every thread is like this, it won't happen without SE doing some moderation.

Why do people bring a youtuber instead of just doing the criticism. We tried for month, and got shot off. Now we have one of the biggest FFXIV creators (or at least was for a long time, I don't know exactly I knew who she was and saw clips of her, but that endwalker patches video was the first complete video of her I saw) that comes around with the same argument we had for month, of course people will " " "follow" " " her.

Like it or not, she has far more weight we individually have, and it's harder to say"Your opinion doesn't count, you're a hater" or "you're just a small vocal part of the community", when there is proof that thousands of people agree with that. Now the defense mechanism has become "It's a streamer, you're not gonna listen to her, right? Right? That would make you a sheep, right? Right?"

Maybe if the community could take some lvl of criticism when it comes without labelling people as hater, we would not be there, the reaction to her video would have been "Yeah, people already said a thousand times, you're late to the party."

Nothing against either of them, honestly..... but I do think content creators posting reaction videos around something another content creator said is a bit silly.

I agree with the catgirl here

I agree with you, I like that Zepla used Twitter to ask opinions from casual players, I don't think MrHappy does that as often.

That something you regulary see with raiders, streamers or not. They qualify what is casual/midcore/hardcore depending of the difficulty of the content only. But it's mostly about time commitment and need to organise to enter into the content. It baffles me to see that Zepla thought she was more on the casual side and that relics farm was casual content. casual is one of the most midcore content, because despite not being hard, it used to ask you a lot of time commitment to get them.

When I hear someone say savage is midcore, I hear a raider thinking savage raid difficulty has decreased. I instantly know the guy is a hardcore player and he probably doesn't really know what he is talking about when he talks about casuals or even midcore players to some extent.

But you see that everyday on the forum. people saying that extremes are not hardcore content, but for casuals and a good part of the midcore players, it is, because it imply a good dose of organisation with your teammates, being for fight itself or chose a date to run the content.

Casual to Hardcore players is a spectrum where the commitment asked from you is the most important criteria, being a time commitment, the commitment of learning a strat beforehand, or the commitment to be there a precise day at a precise time, ... or even all at once.

Pretty much every time a new raid tier drops, MrHappy gets to play week 1 with some of the best players in the entire community, (no, I'm not implying he's carried before anyone makes that assumption, far from it) so I'm not surprised he's saying nonsense things like savage being midcore.

MrHappy's perspective is biased because, as you mentioned, he plays with the top-tier players in Final Fantasy 14.

Due to this, he may not fully grasp how the average player's skill level in the game is not at that level,
many players use the party finder with players of varying skill levels, so he cannot be objective in this situation.

Even extreme fights might be challenging for many players who don't invest heavily in the game or feel incapable of doing savage fights ""can be a discouraging barrier for some players".
While not all savage fights are difficult, they are generally much harder than the average extreme-level encounter, requiring a higher level of group coordination,
this is one of the reasons why savage content is unpopular, and the participation and clear rates for the last boss of a tier are relatively low.

The problem is there is no consensus on what Casual to Hardcore means. Is it just time commitment or is it also difficulty. You aren't going to get a cohesive answer here. To a lot of people they're talking about the difficulty of content and not the time commitment.

And Savage in a lot of areas has dipped in its difficulty. Same as EX. Hence why a lot of people place them in Midcore. Personally, I think they're both hardcore and we have no proper midcore content in the game - where there is decent difficulty and low/no time commitment.

You can argue EX and I would argue anything that requires me to use a PF on specific days during specific hours to even get a chance at a LOOK at the content (even more so if I can't do it when it is recent_ is more of a time commitment edging close to Hardcore.

I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

That thread being popular is only proof that we have a lack of moderation. And can we please stop with the "oh pity us" stuff...criticism isn't being shut down by anyone. You can still post any criticism you want so factually you are not being shut down.

The word "trolls" around here has lost all meaning.
You then speak of being shot down but again...there's far more people that dislike xiv rn than there are people who like it on this site, posting. How does spamming what a content creator says (that many have crapped on in the past til she finally agrees with them) do anything different. Practically no one around here on the "defense brigade" claims that criticism doesn't matter or calls folks offering it haters. The word hater is probably one of the rarest labels we see so no. You then speak of the defense mechanism being "you're sheep if you listen to Zepla now" which is odd because...when people posted Zepla saying great things about the game in the past many of the folks with her now called folks with her back then sheep alongside Zepla herself.

The last bit is ironic because most of the labeling comes from one "side". Bootlicker, Defense Brigade, Criticism Police, White Knight, Shill, Casuals, Drones, SE Defense Force, Trolls like...come on. No one even called OP a hater...just asked why we have to see another thread from a chronic thread maker about the same person. Even I myself suggested putting it on the previous thread to help but I and many others get called shills for this. This is the stuff that doesn't help the forums at all.
