I am actually being genuine when I say I’m glad you do enjoy things like minions! I do as well and I went through a spree of trying to collect all of them because I’m weird. I do love housing, collecting mounts and glams all that stuff but I just end up feeling a bit sad when I see longtime friends I’ve had over the years just simply stop logging in due to issues we all similarly feel are only trending more and more regarding content and actual gameplay instances.
Did you do Island? Figuring out which ones need some fresh air time was probably the hardest decision I had to make there lol. Also trying to release them in groups I'd think would get along.I am actually being genuine when I say I’m glad you do enjoy things like minions! This was a pretty fun survey. I really liked the raid boss question. I wonder if they would actually write a short story about Ultros, Typhon, Enkidu, or recording node if they get submissions for them.
For now my friendlist still active with the same 10-12 players online depending on the hour...i have a mix of every type of player. Personally i don't feel encouraged to log in right now.
For side character i answered Unukalhai becase every arc is complete. Some characters are too powerful to keep around (blue bird) some cool ones are dead (blonde simp). We know enough about the scions, there is nothing new to be add. I felt attempted to answer as Fordola/Arenvald.
It's an awkward question to answer after the end of 10 years of lore. There is no hole in terms of characters development, fortunately/unfortunately.
I was actually very hyped for island so I had been doing that, I think I just was expecting it to be a bit more involved than it was so I felt like I lost interest in it as content which is unfortunate because honestly it was what I had been looking forward to most with endwalker. I really disliked the whole weird little minions being everywhere, was hoping to see to see actual crafting and gathering implemented to it as well which I honestly was kind of surprised it wasn’t. Argument I’ve seen for that is people not being leveled/locked out, thing is it could be like beastmen tribes where it just scales to your current level.
My choice of side character was Fordola, without hesitation or question.
But there are no questions of:
- How do you feel about job/class balance?
- Which expansion did you feel had the most fun raids/dungeons/ultimate?
- What kind of content did you want to see more of?
Or even questions about the newest content we got - Criterion/Variant and Island Sanctuary.
The "favorite foe" question doesn't read to me as "which is the funnest fight" and more as "what is your favorite villain". And as for the job question? Again it doesn't seem to ask what pain points you like about the job, or even ROLE.
So yeah the questionaire does seem to favor the casual side too heavily.
The favorite mount/minion question seems... kind of a stupid one outside of seeing what other kinds of minions would the player base want. IF they are asking for that angle why limit it to mounts/minions and not gear styles, hair styles and clothing styles as well (such as fantasy vs rl, racial/regional gears etc)?
I don't mind these questions but I do mind they refuse to ask the questions I want to answer and give feedback on. This is a perfect chance to do so and it feels wasted.
I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

They always give you the option to express yourself better than just mark your answer. There is something called emotional state analysis, they can easily use your text to understand the reason of your happiness/unhappiness. Also, you can find their intention here:
Depending on the responses we receive, the new side story may feature a character whom already appears in a previous side story or the new Tales under the New Moon series.
Survey answers will serve as a reference for our future endeavors
This survey feels exactly like those questions made by Omega (Venat, Emet or Hermes) or Venat "Has your journey been good?". It's a collection of generic questions, not a combat specific question or combat design question. This is confirmed here:
As part of A Realm Reborn’s 10th Anniversary celebrations[...] Tell us about your main job, what sort of place FFXIV is to you, and other details we would like to hear about your adventures!
They just want to internally compare those results of 10 years later to the previous survey during 1.0. Such complaint makes no sense. It's like asking for an owl to hunt like an eagle. This survey probably was made by marketing department (confirmed by the first two questions) and not from someone that belongs to the main staff.
I would give you the reason if they said "here is an important survey about in-game mechanics, we would like to hear where we can improve" but isn't. Chill.
