Oh I very much say "we" when I talk about the parasocial relationship people in this game have with the developers, you are like the perfect example of it.



They already got called out for that in their old post about it from like a month ago or so, and nothing changed, so they know very well that they are doing it wrong, they just dont care. I wouldnt give money to this personally.

Yea, I'm very gun shy about randomly giving money to a sad story on the internet. There are legitimate charities that I'd much rather support than a rando on the internet with a paypal account or a gofundme with a sad story attached. I know it's cynical, but that's how I feel.

I would have a different opinion if they had listened to the complaints from me and a few others last time, not only regarding "cancer duty completed" which I personally find inappropriate, sure this is FFXIV, but it's real life we are talking about here, not a video game, it's real life cancer, not a video game, it's like making marketing out of it and I find it gross.

And regarding the paypal people also complained and they didnt listen as can be seen on the website, so they clearly just dont care and would rather just go full steam ahead with their ideas, to me this sounds like an absolute scam hidden behind "let's give back to the developers" I'd love to be proven wrong really, but it's very sketchy at best

My concern is there doesn’t seem to be transparency with donations v spend. Unless I missed it.

I do like the sentiment though.
