Many of the game's weaker elements are directly tied to the rather predictable approach to developing content, the increased time between content patches and the simple fact that as the game ages the amount of players who have completed the MSQ's increases. So now we have quite a lot of veteran players who are impacted quite drastically by the bizarre decision for Endwalker to have no equivalent to Bozja/Eureka or Ishgard reconstruction this time around.
I think the problem is they thought we’d spend this time on our Islands instead, but Islands are isolating and not community activities for the most part. Also to me dull and uninteresting for an MMO compared to Bozja or reconstruction.

So I think they did try some experimental content, it just fell flat on its face for a lot of players.
