I think of the Garden Battle. You know how hype that will be if it gets the FF7R treatment?Still better than dodging hundreds of thunders, but...
I don't remember anything memorable of ff9. Maybe Alexander, or when Vivi returns at his town? Dagger cutting her hairs? Ok, but in ff8 we catch our girlfriend in the open space, we renzokken bahamut jumping from wing to wing, and the dance cutscene! not the dance of Cloud in ff7 remake, but a good dance anyway!
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
I was here for the launch. I ran an incredible fc from the get go that strangely enough turned out to be one of the best I had over the last decade. I loved ARR and so did the vast majority of the players I came into contact with. There was nothing to compare it to so people didn't rush and just enjoyed it. What a concept.
10 years ago I was enrolled in the Templar, in constant war against the Illuminati and the Dragons.
Pushing back a Zombie invasion in New England caused by a fog created by a Cthulu like creature. Helped the local tribe restore old traditions to contain and to prevent a sleeper to wake up and end the world as we know it.
Then I teamed up with an immortal mummy and an eternal priest to contain a plague in the heart of Egypt. I travelled back and forth in time to recover a filth bomb send in the future to destroy Cairo. Oh and I defeated an evil priest trying summon an ancient filth creature to destroy Egypt.
Next stop Transilvania, to track down and eliminate the most powerful vampire on earth so she can be reunited with her beloved one. In the mean time I investigated and searched for clues to find an abducted child called Anima to convince her that humanity is worth it and she need to fight the filth.
During this whole journey, I also prevented a demon uprising in hell and prevented an hellish invasion of earth by entering Hell and killing their general, a fallen angel.
But that was only the begging. I then faced my true enemy in Kaidan : The Orochi company, led by an immortal beeing, and its daughter cults, "Fear nothing" and "The morning light" that literally wants to enroll psychic to wake up the dreamer that is currently dreaming our own reality and end it once and for all.
There I set aside my differences with my old enemies, the Illuminati and the Dragons, to fight demons, ghosts and robots with aegis technology. I repelled the source of the filth, convince Anima, the actual incarnation of mother earth, to fight with us and I received angel wings from freaking Nephilims!
And then we got a message from the devs : "F**K YOU! We don't care about our supporting community that stayed with us during 3 freaking years with no new content. We'll just rework the entire game, take out all the interesting game mechanics, strip off the end of the story and change it to pay to win. Then we let it die because we failed miserably". Now this awesome story is dead and I'm f***ng disgusted!
That's why I'm here. Saving Eorzea for the 5th time.

Unfortunately, I was taking care of real life issues, when I wanted to play this game RL said hold up work, family comes first. So I missed the relaunch but eventually I got to come back and play.
Enjoy Life you only get one.
I was there for all that as well. It was a very sad thing to watch happen to a really unique game.10 years ago I was enrolled in the Templar, in constant war against the Illuminati and the Dragons.

I think at the time I was playing WoW and SWTOR, as far as MMOs go. It's hard to remember because time is weird when you get old, sometimes, and then add in the fact that almost exactly a year later I'd be in the early part of pregnancy and time would get even weirder for trying to keep track of things.
Hi, child of the beesWhich secret society were you in?
Damn writing this summary made me nostalgic. Now I want to reinstall the game just to play through it again. I miss the awesome story, the complexe and unique build system (let's go leech tanking!), the synergy within a group, the scenarios (I loved the scenario, I could farm that all day long). What I don't miss is the lack of new content and lag, this damn ping was 300ms at best, servers were running on potatos. And the engine was on its knees as soon as more than 20 players were in the same location. Do you remember world bosses with like 10 FPS?

10 years ago, I was actually between MMORPGs. I'd quit WoW a couple of years prior but I had not yet discovered FF XIV, sadly. 20/20 hindsight, I wish I had, but...
I went back into my Playstation trophy history to see what, in fact, I was actually doing gamewise on September 1, 2013.
Turns out I was playing BioShock on the PS3.

I'm glad FFXIV titles screenshots with the date and time they were taken, I can see exactly where I was 10 years ago.
This was August 28th, 2013:
