Large houses are a luxury, so no.

I mean, in a game with magic and dragons, I don't think there's much point in going for realism in housing scarcity. There is no reason not to let all the people who want a Large house have a Large. What's the harm?

Small houses can't fit and/or store as much furniture and can only have one outdoor garden. The amount of space you get in one can also make people want to go bigger. Even for those who want a smaller space, you can use walls, partitions, and lofts to create different configurations and still having more slots for furniture. (●´ω｀●)
And other games not having housing is that game's problem, not XIV's. (*≧▽≦)ﾉｼ))

I mean then getting a large is something you are working towards to by bidding, so problem solved ? Nothing wrong with working towards something, they'll never do this idea and they are right not to, what about people that prefer mediums and smalls ? You know not everyone wants a large right ?

Except that getting the 50-odd mil to buy a large isn't that hard now-a-days and there are little-to-no larges left on most servers, so there still is a problem. ( •᷄ὤ•᷅)
There are however, plenty of smalls and even a handful of mediums for those who want them in the older zones, so those who want them are covered. (◍´͈ꈊ`͈◍)

Housing districts are tied to major cities which Radz is not. The options are Crystarium or Sharlayan.

Sharlayan is a possibility, but there's no airship route there, whereas Radz-at-Han already has one. That's why I think Radz is next.

You could be right about Sharlyaan already having lore about their housing district. That's very possible.

I've been on the forums for over 10 years now asking for this, and even in their "smaller population" years, they still wouldn't listen to this. I also hope it, but there's probably something to do with server load.

Exactly this. There's a RIDICULOUS number of small houses still not being taken every week but the mansions are getting 70-100 bids.

It's simple supply and demand. If people want a thing, there should be more of the thing. And I guarantee that subscriptions will increase if people want to maintain their mansions.
