Talking about Bloodtear reminded me of a possible difference between XI and this game. That NM was found in an open area, on a well-beaten path where anyone could see it - most importantly, new players. That's the trouble with FFXIV; Every NM is out of the way or instanced and respawns every 10min. Anything spectacular that you might see must be actively sought, as well.

Said it before and I'll keep saying it: This game has no majesty.

Bloodtear pummeled many wary travelers who wanted to take a peak at the gigantic sheep!

Its this kind of stuff I miss. Granted, XIV has them but as you said, they are hidden away.

Seeing NM's in XI was exciting. In XIV they don't even merit acknowledgement half the time.
