I think this is a bit of a issue with the New World word for the new Story Arc. People associate too much negativity with it. Not only that there is a slight issue they are assuming the entire New World region is going to be pre-Columbian America style civilizations.

We, as players limited to what we are given in current storyline, are not 100% certain the new region is exactly like Pre-Columbian America since Eorzea is not exactly a 1 to 1 reflection of Earth.

Due to how unknown these regions are, we may see civilizations that are equally advance as the civilization in Eorzea and maybe almost equal to Garlean Empire as well though their own method of technology advancements.

Yes what little we gotten so far has been themed around Pre-Columbian civilizations but we are uncertain just what kind of culture and civilizations exists in the New World fully since we only touched on what is probably only a very small amount of knowledge about Civilizations and cultures that exist there.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

As for what point we are jumping into this new Continent that only began having massive investment into exploration now that the War against Garlemald is over, we are not entering these regions fresh as we already learned many years of expedition have already been done at this point by both those related to the Eorzean Alliance and Garlean Empire.

How much they have influenced and how much each culture reacted to their years of involvement within their regions is the main question.

The region we are going to for this expansion appears to be less influenced but enough has been established to set up a full trading center which we get bits of when seeing each Scion doing their own thing.

However, we cannot expect all regions to be this well preserved in their technology level and culture since we know certain regions have already gone through heavy influence from people from the Eorzean Alliance region and Garlean Empire.

A lot of things is eventually unavoidable with the New Continent Arc since there is always concept that some civilization may end up mixing together other civilization concepts, such as technology, to make life easier but still maintain most of their culture. You cannot really expect a civilization that once depended on only Kettles for their bathroom with no sewer system to just complete abandon the toilet and functioning sewer system as a exmple. Some may as attempt to go back to roots or just act in extreme ways to remove outside influence of course.

Personal Relation issues is also up in question within different regions of the New Continent Arc since the events of Garlean Conquests and certain Capitalism attempts to profit off the New Continent region from people within the Eorzea Alliance regions most likely made things difficult in certain regions we will not be exploring yet until a future Expansion. However, this is probably one of the reasons why we are starting the New Continent arc in this region where Eorzea Alliance and Garlean Empire influence is still at the lowest point. It establish a friendly relationship now, and maybe more in 8.0, until we enter more serious regions that have more negative views about someone from Eorzea even though WoL literally saved the entire Planet.

However, I expect not everyone in the New Continent will even know who the WoL is. Part of the concept for entering the New Continent is that we maybe starting mostly fresh in a place that may know little to nothing about WoL's history. If i remember right, they did mention that the New Continent regions got very little amount of information about what was going on in Eorzea so most of their knowledge about Eorzea comes mostly from people visiting the New Continent either from the Garlean Empire or Eorzea Alliance regions.

We also know that the Mamool Ja that are in Eorzea are there for two reasons. One is for mercenary work. The other is the implication that back home stuff isn't stable and they fled. The Mamool Ja might be everywhere in Tural, as we've been told by various sources and yet they're here taking up mercenary work.

I honestly think this is one of those cases that life where they live is just not that good during the current time of events so expanding out for Merc work helps them earn money to obtain supplies and other resources they cannot obtain in their own regions to better their own life.

With the interaction of new civilizations different from their own, it also results in introducing certain things that would improve living conditions for certain civilizations in certain areas such as newer food that provide better nutrition but cannot grow in the region, resources for crafting things or improving on things, and etc.

The other aspect is most likely certain people from Eorzea Alliance regions maybe taking advantage of them as we know it is a common thing certain people do, looking at certain Syndicate members, for profit. Probably the usual "work for me" or "do this work" and they are promised pay they can use to buy things they can send back to their home stuff.

After a couple of times watching it, the music grew on me and I am looking forward to 7.0. Hopefully it wont just end with another huge threat. I am fine with it just being a local conflict.
Also curious how 6.5 story will play into this. The devs teased that something big might happen at the end, so I am not sure what that could be that would still lead us into our beach epsiode.

Not so sure if I am a fan that all of the scions seems to be part of it. At the same time I loved Graha and Estinien in this.

Hopefully the devs are no cowards and finally show us THAT dance of the Mamool Ja.

I have to imagine that 6.5 ends with us not stopping or not fully stopping Zeromus and she(?) gets away to be a threat growing in the background. And maybe we have ulterior motives for heading to Tural, like there's rumors that point to a void rift existing or the city of gold could be a remnant of the ancients that might be useful or something. Or, with Zeromus off to parts unknown, we don't know what else to do and this just falls in our lap.

I notice a distinct lack of both Zero and Vrtra in this trailer, so far, even as voice lines. Like, they could still be with us, but I can definitely see them exiting the story for a bit to follow up on the void stuff while we're in south america.

Vrtra I imagine is just not going with us. Fair enough, he's got a country to run.

Zero's not in the teaser, but that could either be 'she's not joining us' or 'she is joining us but we don't want to reveal that just yet'; Krile's not in the teaser despite us knowing she's gonna be involved, and Alphinaud only appears out-of-focus in a way that suggests they cut his scene.

I think the void stuff will wrap up and there will be follow up side quests for players who have done Eden and ShB role quests. We already have Krile's letter and Thancred & Urianger mentioning requests for help as reasons to go to the New World

I kind of expect they may give the Scions a reason to stay Main characters for the New World story arc anyways.

It saves up having to spend time developing new Main characters.

However, it does seem reasons vary among each group.

Y'shtola's reason is obviously to continue her research into traveling between shards.

However, the others appear to be hired by different groups for different tasks.

Thancred and Urianger, from the trailer, seem to be focus on exploration tasks.

I think Krile and G'raha maybe focus on more political tasks from a separate group.

As for the Twins, we have yet to see hints on what reasons they may be going to the Expansion regions. However, we may get the hint on what task they have in Alphinaud's section of the full trailer since his part was cut out in the teaser version of the trailer but we do hear him in the beginning of the teaser trailer.

I have to wonder if Krile's letter writer is different from Thancred and Urianger's letter writer. If we are talking about a division among the Scions, even friendly, could start with taking requests from two different petitioners.

Right now for me, the tone of the trailer makes no sense if Zeromus still exist because I just cant see the WoL being so relaxed and happy while there is another world ending threat out there. Of course the tone can still change a bit with the full trailer.

They also cant really rejoin the 13th because jobs like reaper need the existance of the void to function.
