Personally, I quite like the trailer and feel it does exactly what a teaser trailer should do; it's something of an aperitif to whet the appetite but can see why some found it underwhelming.

Might have a little time before the contest for the throne ramps up. But yeah the story outlined doesn't speak to me about a lot of downtime. Plus Y'shtola is putting some pieces together so I'm sure she'll have us looking into some things.
i guess some havent learnt anything in the past 2 yrs
in the gaming world always KEEP expectations low...that way the blow of a bad product(or not meeting your , again , expectations) wont be that hard.
I suppose this is my cautiously hopeful take as well. I'm not a fan of "filler beach episode", so I hope it's not THAT. But ARR and SB were fun and were (generally speaking) lower stakes (HW involved a lot of life and death of us and people we personally knew, and ShB and EW involved the fate of the world(s) and the universe, respectfully; so SB's kind of minor to moderate skirmishes in a mostly entrenched combat zone were low stakes by comparison), so they might make it compelling enough. And there is going to be the political intrigue going on, so as long as they make the characters and peoples there ones I actually care about to make that have weight, I guess I'm okay with it.
CAUTIOUSLY hopeful, but still hopeful.

Wasn't a jungle + Beach combo the section of ARR that had the series of Cheese and Wine related quests? I sure hope they don't try to do a throwback of that.

My expectations are so low Satan is tripping over them at this point, honestly. But it's nice to have at least a little hope once in a while.
When watching the trailer I was thinking "oh that's pretty nice" to pretty much everything, including Erenville and Estinien coming back, but then they started rapid fire showing the scions, then that mild interest turned into this:

The news had me pretty excited, especially with the thought of a possible new dex melee and caster. For years, I wanted to return to just being an adventurer. Exploring and discovering new locations and meeting new tribes in the world. To be put some place where I don't feel all powerful. While some of that can't be helped, at least it's a step in the right direction. However, my disappointment came when they said we'd have more of the same and no news of any new features or experimental content/improvements to rewards of criterions. I thought this fanfest was going to break me and finally make me unsub, but I guess I have to hold out for the next one. Maybe do an ultimate in the meantime or something.
