Does corsair make the warrior of light fireproof? Cus that cloak was literally burning off him and he's just like ".... /smirk". I think derplander might be broken, guys. lol



Also, wanna point out that armory changes in battle were used in Shadowbringers' trailer, so him fighting with just a sword may not mean anything except that he's a paladin who had his shield knocked out of his hand before that clip. Also a little backed up by him not caring his clothes are on fire-- cus he can just change them.

Not that gun and blade dual wielding wouldn't be cool.


Also, its kinda weird that the hood being tossed back is in the last scene when, presumably, he'll be losing the hood in the fight with Gulool (sp?) in the middle of the trailer. Maybe that final scene on the ship is out of order in relation to the final trailer? His face and new hair wouldn't be much like the reveal its treated as by that shot if we already saw it in that fight beforehand.

Or there's an armory change in that fight to gear that hides his face still, thus the reveal at the end is preserved.

I just want to say that I think the miqotes in our party look much better in this trailer than they did in Endwalker. Am I alone in thinking that? They looked a bit alien to me there, but in this they look more like their SHB versions. Well, Y'shtola does at least; we only saw G'raha's mouth and lower jaw in that one. lol But still, I stand by my assertion.

Maybe the contest for the Golden Throne is only the first half of the story, and upon reuniting the scions we journey north to discover a greater threat, a threat to all of Yok Tural.

I had a slightly crazy thought. What if the two sides in contention for the throne are each of Gulool's heads? If they treat him (or them, in this idea) like conjoined twins instead of some kind of strange joint hivemind or something, then maybe the brothers(?) are the ones fighting. And we basically have the scions breaking down in to "left gang" and "right gang". lol

He looks more of a oh crap why am I being swarmed again.

Yeah, I think he might be having a flashback to The Great Work. When we're the amazing friends that we are and leave him to the mob again, I hope we actually join Urianger in praying for his soul this time. Its only right.

The Robe purpose is mostly just to hide the WoL and the outfit design for the Job he will be using to represent this Expansion especially if the Job he is using is one of the New Jobs for this expansion. So it is not a actual part of the Job outfit but a extra thing they added in the trailer to hide the actual Job outfit design which will not have the robe. The part when his robe is on fire is most likely the moment in the Full trailer when WoL removes the Robe to reveal the new Job he will be using to represent this Expansion.

The trailer is most likely intentionally out of order when the WoL's reveal with his new appearance and slight teaser to his outfit design to keep the mystery behind the new Job he will be using as the Representative Job for this expansion. If the Representative Job for this expansion is one of the new Jobs then it is very important for SE to keep it hidden until they are ready to reveal it in one of their upcoming Reveals or until the Full trailer reveal. Thus the use of the Robe in the trailer to hide the actual outfit design of the job the WoL is using until it gets "Burned off" in that fight moment during the full trailer.

I really dislike that quote. It feels like "making up silly things for tribes to believe in" and if it is indeed meant to describe a modern city then it locks them into some weird worldbuilding later.

Modern city wasn't how I interpreted "grey monoliths", but now you've said that my brain is going "Nier Crossover pt 2". lol

Or, you know, Ancient remnants are also a possibility. We don't know anything about the cities across the sea back in the ancient times other than that they fell to the Final Days before Amaurot did. There could be some ruins left. Assuming the calamities were kind to them or they had protection.

Which reminds me, I wonder if we'll get anything to confirm if/how the umbral calamities actually impacted the new world when they happened? I've always been curious if the effects were localized to Eorzea/the three great continents or if they were actually global.

And if they were global, how did the other peoples, who would have absolutely no idea why things are flooding or icing over or catastrophic droughts are happening, explain them?. Would they have myths about it? Would they tie explanation for the calamities in to their own historical events?And will that be accurate (cus ascians didn't restrict themselves to calamity setup only in Eorzea) or will those attempts to explain the calamities be wrong? Will they also have the idea of a umbral/astral cycle? And how much of their understanding is influenced by their interactions with Eorzea? Especially if the interaction point is Sharlayan, land of scholars and historians.

I'm a touch curious if there's going to be any fallout from the Final Days in Tural because with the turning incidents being a worldwide phenomena, I'd think there could be some lingering presence of beasts and/or blasphemies around.

I really hope Erenville gets a lot of screen time or is relatively important in Dawntrail. I adored him in EW! It'd be a bit wasteful of his character if he's just here to transport us back and forth from Tural.

Also seems Derplander is still PLD as he's wielding Lightbringer (PLD AF5 sword from EW), unless the full trailer to come later in the year features a Job change.

Not convinced he is PLD. No shield for starters, and I'm not convinced his sword is Lightbringer:
