Currently I7-8700K (overclocked), RTX2070, and two 500GB SATA SSD's
Got a year to do it, so I'll come up with a build list and wait for sales.

That's not only above the minimum requirements. It's above the recommended requirements as well. So you don't need to upgrade unless your RAM is below 16 GB or 8 GB.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

I do wish they'd show some more granular system requirements for different resolution and frame rate targets. It's become a trend recently for PC releases and gives a much nicer gauge for what to expect. See the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart system requirements as an example of this.

Agreed. The only thing downlevel is my CPU, but I just looked up what my motherboard can support and I can just pop in an I9-9900K, but the performance isn't that much higher. The only times I see performance issues is in large hunt trains where my FPS can drop into the 50's I'll hold off unless I get into a more demanding game.
Well hubby and I are going to start looking at a new machine for me. My current machine is a tiny notch above the minimum specs for the new expansion.
i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz

To be fair on some games the machine is already chugging. We were just trying to hold off a little longer for financial reasons. We have a year we can figure it out
FFXIV's requirements going up? Good. I needed another excuse to upgrade my PC. Was planning on doing it anyway for that Cyberpunk 2077 DLC coming out since I had to turn off ray tracing on the base game to get a stable framerate on that game. Other than that I run everything I play maxed out except I think for No Man's Sky after one of their more recent giant updates. Though looking at my library I think the next highest system resource eaters would be things like PSO2 New Genesis, Warframe, Borderlands 3/Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and my modded Skyrim which is probably about 99% mods and 1% Skyrim at this point lol.
Still waiting on that global PC release of Earth Defense Force 6...
Remnant 2 is tempting tho...
yeah im prob gonna jump up to im thinking a 4070-ti
I'm decent when it comes to software and editing but I'm downright useless when it comes to hardware. I wish I had the know-how to just build a custom rig. I probably could if I really sat down and did some homework.
