A lot of creators love to call anyone who dares offer criticism trolls as a way of trying to invalidate the things they don't want to hear. 95% of the criticism of this game that I have seen comes from a place of deeply caring for the game and wanting to make it better. FWIW, he is almost certainly talking about comments from JP. It's extremely funny that a few people in this thread think Yoshida is sitting here reading the incredibly mild comments on the English forums and getting upset.

Certain elements of the JP gaming community are INCREDIBLY unhinged and hateful. I browse 5ch sometimes and there are some absolutely deranged threads that make these forums look like the nicest place on earth in comparison.

There are threads dedicated to bullying YoshiP on 2ch/5ch, wherein people post all kinds of insane accusations and personal information about him..

I mean given the level of... ‘constructive criticism’ one sees here and elsewhere on the wide web at time, I can really understand why he would find some of the feedback tiresome. Constructive criticism is all well and good, and naturally a needed part of any creative medium. However there will always be trolls poking with sticks, and those who state they are polite and constructive, but mask subjective options as fact with a side of spiteful glee.
