Actually doctor know it all, this is the first thread reaction to the first time the uldah inns were taken down. People just keep posting on it.

And now Rukkirii 'cause she's awesome and likes to hang out with the cool crowd. *Waves at Rukki holding his glue covered inhaler*

yes, the inns are down, and i must say the EXP bonus from the inn is nice but its too brief (i know it increase according to the time your character spend in the Inn) and impractical there is no flexibility with using the Bonus, because its basically unstudied for, FFXIV gives the player the power to change Classes whenever wherever, but you are bound to level the class you want to level the most with the bonus FIRST, means if you just felt bored of that and you want to try a new class you will be wasting the bonus on that class. as its lower level then the other. IMO

Pick up leves, return to home point at leve location, do leves, return to inn at city, rinse, repeat. Little to no anima cost! I like it!

It's not something so simple as saying "I don't like this feature" or "I don't like that feature". Rather, the general direction of "complexity" worries me. As a UI designer myself (though I work primarily in web page design) all of these special cases really bother me. We just keep getting more and more complex special cases; which in turn require more and more complex interfaces to support them. "You can set a regular home point, but also an Inn return point, but only on one at a time, and to return to one, select return, then where you want to return to...".

It's not a huge hassle by itself, but it's one of a growing number of little special cases that lead to top-heavy, unweildly UIs. Just look at our Attributes menu, with it's pages and pages of separate information for, frankly, not much correlated content. They could have made it so that you set the Inn as your home point and avoided the need to at least add another button, probably another entire menu.

To be fair to both sides, I do understand that they may have done this because of the way the "Return" system works; adding a new one may have just taken less time than reworking the current one. In which case, it can be streamlined easily in 2.0. I'm just starting to get more and more worried about the UI bloat we have been seeing recently. They did a good job cutting it down 3-4 patches ago, I just don't want to see them take three steps back now.

Take a big breath hulan...All done?

    Good

Go back to the Ver. 2.0 page and look at the major screenshot again. Does the UI look anything like this one?

There you go problem solved. NO Ver. 2.0 will in no way function or look anything like what we have now. When things are added to the current servers and game engine they are essentially sloppy band-aids / beta tests

what they will become is more like what you see in that screenshot of ver. 2.0
