The sad smily symbol always seems like somethings wrong and people wonder. Also people still see you 'online' and maybe feel activly rejected.

It makes no sense to be offended when someone just wants a little bit time alone.
But sadly many people get offended by this.

It could help to have some kind of 'ghost status/mode', where you are online, but invisible for others. At the same time others also have to be invisible for the player thats beeing in ghost mode,
because otherwhise people could abuse this for stalking. Que for groups for dungeons etc not possible in ghostmode.

So people could do some stuff alone, without getting interrupted and without other people get offended. : )

Exactly my thought. I know some people who get excited when I log in, but sometimes I just want to stay away to do whatever I want without hurting their feelings.

There's a difference between sending a tell or a greeting to someone online and not getting a response Vs them not logging in, to begin with. The former is a lot worse than the latter.
