This! While this is a Titanmen thread I still want to say that the kind of skills that XIV requires not everyone is going to be good at, which is mostly memory. XIV requires people to memorize patterns and rotations which isn't too difficult for most things but some content has a lot of moving parts and will be hard for some people to memorize. There are other skills these people might excel in but in this environment those skills aren't going to help you.
Whilst I seem able to memorise how to play certain jobs (haven't tried healer or tank yet in any meaningful way yet) I have a terrible time with mechanics - try as I might, I never remember them!
Haha yeah, playing the level 50/60/70 etc roulette as a Tank has been... eye opening to just how many dungeons and unique bosses there are in the game and how little I remember haha.I think sometimes people forget or don't realize just how many boss encounters there are in this game now. isn't it over a hundred? Thats a LOT to remember. Hell, i still get dungeons sometimes in roulettes that Im like "uhh yeah, I dont remember this place at all" Lol
Yeah but a lot of that content leaves you severely overtuned ilvl wise after syncing that you might as well be Senator Armstrong as far as the boss's damage output is concerned.
Haha fair, but even then there are some which still have mechanics which suck despite damage (Looking at you Pharos Sirius...) and never underestimate a players stupidity when failing mechanics, and by player I mean my own lol.
You know what's offensive OP? Mods refusing to permaban you for constantly trolling/spamming the forums with bait threads.

I mean, if you go back and look at rotations in HW for Summoner for example then look at the Summoner rotation now can you really argue that the game isn't dumbed down? People have a point, they aren't wrong just because you don't like it.
It's too stressful! How are we going to live? What may be easy for you may not be easy for others. For many players, the current level of difficulty is just right for them. Some players have minor disabilities such as partial blindness or motor stiffness and appreciate that it is still possible to play this game and participate in all forms of content.
It is extremely ableist to suggest that the game has been "dumbed down" because it encourages harassment. Moreover it is an ableist insult that has no place in the community. When you say that the game has been "dumbed down" you are implying that only dumb people now enjoy the game. This couldn't be further from the truth. Some players enjoy simplicity because they may be stressed or are dealing with PTSD and do not want to handle complex, stressful tasks. Some players enjoy simplicity because they may be dealing with anxiety and do not wish to handle potential name-calling when playing stressful games. Some players may be depressed which lowers their motivation to play extremely complex games, and the simplicity allows them a small escape while they heal.
What some players see as "dumbed down", I see as a comprehensive and elegant way to increase the accessibility of the game so that players of all stripes, disabilities, and video game experience can participate without feeling shunned or unwelcome. Next time, please consider whether saying words like "dumbed down" is actually soft bigotry.

Agreed. I'm 100% disabled, and frequently in great pain; but, I'm able to do most of the content, except jump puzzles. I’m cool with that. My friends know what I’m not capable of and they don’t hold that against me.
Yes, I wouldn’t want the game dumbed down because it’s an insult to believe someone who has a disability can’t play FFXIV. I think anyone can rise to a challenge if they put their mind to it.
Our Kaiten, Celesti. Our Kaiten!
Get some empathy, scrub.
I’m the same way, 99% of the time. Took me a week to figure out the last boss in the Dead Ends.My biggest problem in this game is not executing mechanics correctly, it is figuring them out. The simplest things I do not understand until I finally do. Then I will probably never mess that mechanic up again. Many say that mechanics are so obvious in this game. I disagree.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
